EPS Family News-May Newsletter
May 5, 2024
Dear EPS Families,
It is hard to believe that we are already in the month of May and approaching the final months of our 23/24 school year. May will be a busy month for our school as we have assemblies, NJSLA testing, Field trips, Field day and more! Please check out the information below to catch up on all the happenings!
Staff Appreciation Week
This week we will celebrate and show appreciation for all that the EPS staff does for our students and school community. There are simple ways that you and your child can show your gratitude for our staff such as:
- Have your child draw a picture, write a card or write a story for them
- Pick a bouquet of fresh flowers to brighten their day
- Send in their favorite drink or snack
- Write an email sharing your gratitude
- Send in classroom supplies, sidewalk chalk or bubbles for the classroom
Thank you for showing your appreciation for our incredibly hard working staff!
Take A Break From the Screen Week!
This week we encourage all students to take a break from any type of screen time! Check out the bingo board that you can do with your child daily when they return from school each day!
NJSLA Testing for 3rd Grade
Our 3rd grade students will have their NJSLA testing from May 13-May 17. Please see the tips below to help make it a successful experience for them:
Have your child get a good night's sleep
Ensure they have a healthy breakfast
Arrive to school on time each day. Testing begins at 9:15 each day and any students who arrive after that will need to participate in makeup testing
Please send a healthy snack for your child each day of testing. The PTO will be providing a special snack on the last day of testing
If your child is sick, please keep them home, they will have an opportunity to make up the testing
Please know that there is no additional preparation that your child needs to do for this testing.
The Chicks Have Arrived at EPS
Quiver Farms participates each year in bringing chick eggs to hatch at EPS. You can watch the chick cam at the link below to see their hatching progress.
