It's the PALS Press!
September 2024
Welcome, and welcome back!
We are off and running in a new school year! Do you know it's nearly progress report time? In the past few weeks, I have had the pleasure of visiting Joseph SaldaƱa at LASA, Satarra Holmes at Northeast High School, Kent Laughlin at Crockett, Breonta Williams at Casey, Patrice Burgess at LBJ, Ashlyn King and Jacqueline Moore at Rodriguez, Maria Hernandez at Barrington, Francisco Flores at Akins, Olga Neverovich at Patton, Jodi Arguello at Williams, Jasmine Lee at Overton, Lisa Adams at Summitt and managed to have a great conversation with Pat Rios at Bear Creek despite a car wreck on Escarpment Blvd. blocking the route up to the school.
If you would like your classroom or office to be a stop on my rolling road show, please don't hesitate to reach out. I love visiting campuses and seeing your amazing work firsthand, and I'm always happy to provide support if you'd like some.
If you are an elementary counselor interested in (or currently running) a PALS program, please take the time to answer these seven questions to help me support you better. If you are a high school PALS teacher, please answer these few questions. It's incredibly important to for me to know how many students you have, where they mentor and what I can do to help you. Thanks!
As we kick off the period when we traditionally are training students, I want you to know that our Secondary PALS Training is booked for October 15th from 9 am - 12 pm. RSVP link to follow in this note. Elementary folks, your in-person training is in the works. We heard your feedback and are working with a different trainer who will help our students put their best feet forward in their leadership roles and remember to speak up to protect their peers.
Happy Friday, everyone. Here's to a great year.
Love,
Stacia
