CTS Snapshot

Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Students receive lesson stars where a teacher feels a student has made an excellent contribution in their lesson. Some students receive multiple lesson stars across the week, below are the students who have received the most stars for each year group this week:

Year 7:

Emily B 7CA, Matvey 7CA, Nikoletta 7CO and Durel 7CA.

Year 8:

Amber 8ST, Francesca 8TE, Dominik 8TA, Danny 8CA and Olivia 8SW.

Year 9:

Ruby 9SW, Alfred 9CA, Aarushi 9CA and Ilmathi 9TA.

Year 10:

Robert 10CU, Dera 10SI, Igor 10CA and Amber 10CU.

Year 11:

Leah 11CO and Dylan 11TE.

Year 12:

Daniel, Roman, Kitty and Lexi 12A and Tyler B 12B.

Year 13:

Ana 13A.

Our co-curricular programme has returned this week, please see below the clubs available to students, if you wish to register your child, please do this via Edulink.

Year 10 student Emilia was invited to represent East Midland Archery Society (EMAS) junior team in a competition against West Midlands Archery Society (WMAS) that was held on September 22nd at Lilleshall National Sport Centre. The Junior team of EMAS won the competition against WMAS.

Emilia is getting ready now for the Junior National Indoor Championship that will take place in December. Well done Emilia, an amazing achievement!

Year 13 student Dawa is currently studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science and completed a two week Summer internship with JP Morgan as a Financial Risk Analyst. Dawa recently took part in an interview with Mrs Lomas, Careers Advisor and the full interview can be found on our Facebook page - Facebook.

Year 11 students have disected heats in their Biology lessons this week, some pictures are below.

Our students have made a fantastic start to their learning, and lots of lesson stars and achievement points have been given out by staff. In particular we would like to celebrate three students this week who have been recognised most highly for their efforts:

• Our Open Event for prospective Year 6 students will take place on Tuesday 1st October, the event will take place between 5.00pm and 7.30pm with presentations from the Principal at 5.15pm, 6.00pm and 6.45pm.
• Year 12 students will be visiting the UK University and Apprenticeship Fair on Tuesday 8th October.
• We will hold our Sixth Form Open Event on Thursday 10th October from 5.00pm to 6.30pm with presentations at 5.00pm and 6.00pm.
