Hello Grissom Families.

The 2024-25 school year is right around the corner!

We at Grissom are eager to welcome our Patriots back to school and to celebrate a significant milestone, our 50th school year!

Today, August 5th, is schedule release day. Students and parents are now able to access schedules on the Infinite Campus portal.

This Wednesday, August 7th, we will host our Student/Parent Walkthrough. Morning and evening sessions will be offered. Read below for more information about the event.

Our PTO's Hot Lunch program is now live for ordering. Be sure to read the information about Hot Lunch and place your orders ASAP. Orders for the the first half of the school year are due by Friday, August 30th.

The walkthrough provides an opportunity to purchase locks, gym suits, spirit wear, pick up pre-ordered school supply kits, etc. Parents and students may also walk through the building to familiarize themselves with the location of classes and lockers.

Please note that students will not be allowed to enter the building unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you have any questions regarding the walkthrough, please contact the Grissom office at 708-429-3030.

What if we cannot attend the walkthrough?

Many of our students and families are not able to attend Walkthrough day. On the first few days of school, teachers take plenty of time touring the building with students so they become familiar with different locations. All items offered at the Walkthrough are available for purchase on the first few days of school. We do not expect students to have all items ready on the first few days.

We cannot arrange separate days, times, or personal tours for families unable to attend on August 7th.

Elementary classroom assignments and middle school student schedules will be released via Infinite Campus Parent Portals today, Monday, August 5, 2024.

Transportation information will be available in portals on Friday, August 9.

Please contact your school office if you need assistance with your parent portal.

Hot Lunch ordering will live on Wednesday, August 7th.

Our bell schedule is slightly adjusted for the upcoming school year.

FIRST PERIOD CLASSES NOW BEGIN 5 MINUTES EARLIER THAN LAST SCHOOL YEAR AT 8:40 AM.

Important Notes

• Students are still able to arrive and enter school at 8:25 AM. WE ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO ARRIVE AS EARLY AS 8:25 AM SO THEY HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO REPORT TO THEIR LOCKERS AND 1ST PERIOD CLASSES.
  
  
• Walker / car rider entrances will be not be accessible after 8:37 AM. Students who arrive after this time will need to report directly to the main office and will likely be marked tardy to school.
  
  
• The first period bell will ring at 8:40 AM to begin class, five minutes earlier than previous years.
  
  
• Dismissal time on full school days will now be at 3:07 PM, eight minutes earlier than previous years.

Grissom's Open House is schedule for Monday, August 26th, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. At Open House, will be able to meet your child’s teachers and learn about school curriculum and expectations. Open House is intended only for parents and guardians. Students already learn all of the information presented at Open House during the first few days of school.
