A Message From Mr. Lynch
We are thrilled to share that we have had another fantastic week here at Brimfield! Our students continue to grow, learn, and demonstrate the values that make our school community so special. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement—it truly makes a difference.
I want to let you know about a change in how we will celebrate student achievements moving forward. After careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue our traditional awards assemblies. This decision was made due to several factors, including the challenge of limited parking availability during large events and our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our school environment.
Please rest assured that students will still receive recognition for their hard work and accomplishments! Awards will now be presented in their classrooms, allowing for a more personal and focused celebration of their achievements. We believe this approach will be just as meaningful for the students while addressing the logistical concerns of larger gatherings.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we strive to make the best decisions for our students and school community. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Dear Field Families,
Routines and Sleep!!
Getting back into the swing of a schedule is difficult to do. Keeping a routine helps establish healthy habits, it can help kids gain confidence and independence, establish expectations as well as lower anxiety. Sleep is so important for students, kids 5 to 12 years old need 9 to 12 hours each night. Not every kid is the same; some kids need more sleep than others. Setting up a regular bedtime each night with a nightly routine such as turning off screens, reading together, and brushing teeth can make bedtime smoother for all. And just like a nightly routine, morning consistency can make for a great start to each day. Waking up at the same time each morning and having a healthy breakfast can help students be recharged and ready for a day at school. Along with nightly and morning routines, having an after-school homework plan can help students stay on top of their homework and help students develop time management skills! Don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions or need any help setting up routines at home!
Please check out this article by The Sleep Foundation about Children and sleep for more information!

SHOUT OUTS!
PBIS
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach designed to foster a positive school climate by encouraging appropriate behavior. It focuses on teaching and reinforcing clear behavioral expectations in a consistent and structured way. PBIS emphasizes prevention rather than punishment, using data to identify and support students who may need additional help. By recognizing and rewarding positive behavior, PBIS aims to improve student engagement, reduce disciplinary issues, and create a more inclusive, respectful learning environment where all students can thrive academically and socially.
At Brimfield Elementary, students help to identify positive expectations and receive incentives for appropriate behavior. Your child may be chosen to participate in the Principal’s Club, receive a red SOAR ticket, or earn a Principal’s Good News call. The staff at Brimfield works hard to use positive words with students. Instead of telling a child to “stop running” in the hallway, the direction might be to “move throughout the halls in a controlled and safe manner”. Thank you, in advance, for partnering with us and using positive statements with your child. We are very proud of our PBIS program and look forward to celebrating the great behavior of our young Falcons!
