GT Groups
We invite you to ask your child to share what he/she has been learning in GT this year!
Second Grade
Second-grade groups begin at the end of this month! Yay! This year students will be challenged to solve problems after considering multiple perspectives.
Third Grade
Students are persevering to work through challenging puzzles that require them to solve problems and think critically.
Fourth Grade
Using poetry and contextual problems with multiplication, students are learning to self-manage their progress through their enrichment modules each week.
Fifth Grade
After a comprehensive module focusing on what we can learn from Martin Luther King, Jr.'s advocacy, students are practicing abstract thinking through poetry.

GT Coach Spotlight
Welcome Tina Simmerly to the GT Department.
Tina comes to us from the state of Florida. She is serving West Hills Elementary, Farragut Primary, Maynard Elementary, Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Academy, and Dogwood Elementary. Tina is looking forward to less amusement parks and four seasons to enjoy in East Tennessee. She and her husband have three adult children and their third child is now a freshman at UT. GO VOLS! She has 16 years of experience working with gifted and high achieving students. We are so excited that Tina has joined our department!
