Central Springs Elementary Celebrates Red Ribbon Week
By: Sheila Mullen, Central Springs Elementary PK-3 Counselor
The Nora Springs and Manly Elementary students celebrated Red Ribbon Week Monday, October 21st through Friday, October 25th. Red Ribbon Week is a celebration of a drug and bully-free lifestyle. Students enjoyed participating in spirit activities throughout the week to help raise awareness. Each day of the week the students had different themes for dress-up days. Themes included “Be a HERO and Stand Up to Bullies & Say NO to Drugs!,” “TEAM UP Against Bullying & Drugs!,” “RED-y to Live a Drug-Free Life,” “COLOR Your Life Bullying & Drug-Free!,” and “Keep Our School COOL- No Drugs & No Bullying.” On these dress-up days, students and teachers were encouraged to wear their favorite superhero shirts, team colors or jerseys, red clothing, and designated grade-level colors, and our final day was to wear PANTHER PRIDE colors. In addition to our dress-up days, we also colored posters to hang in the hallways, had a guessing contest, and had a Red Ribbon Week Raffle. We had a fun-filled week while learning to be kind to others and make healthy choices!

Fall Musical
The Central Springs Choral department is proud to present Disney's Camp Rock.
Our story follows Mitchie Torres and her friends who arrive at Camp Rock, ready to spend another summer jamming out and having the time of their lives. But the new, flashy Camp Star across the lake now threatens Camp Rock's very existence. To keep the doors open, Mitchie steps up, rallies her fellow Camp Rockers and gets them into top shape for the ultimate showdown in this classic tale of rivalry and power! Come see our show on November 8th and 9th at 7:30pm and November 10th at 2:30pm in the Central Springs High School Auditorium.
