Classroom List Planning
Each spring, in preparation for the following school year, the Prairie View staff begins the process of preparing class lists. In doing so, we will carefully consider a variety of important factors based on the learning needs of your child. These factors include the learning environment that will contribute most to your child’s academic, emotional, and social growth. Careful consideration will be given to the make-up of the classroom as a whole in order to create a culture conducive to learning.
If you have thoughts regarding your child’s strengths, needs, or personality that you would like us to consider in building next year’s lists, Please take time to complete a Classroom Environment Request Form which can be found on the Mukwonago Area School District website under Parents/Students tab in the forms folder for School Specific Forms (http://www.masd.k12.wi.us/parents-students/masd-forms.cfm).
Please note that parent input is just one aspect of determining student placement. This form must be received in the Prairie View office on or before Friday, April 26, 2019 in order to be taken into consideration. Thank you!

Counselor Note for March - Ms. Crouse
This month's notes involves information on handling the "tough stuff": dealing with anger and stress.
Harvest Fest Volunteers Needed
The North Prairie Harvest Fest Committee is looking for a few more members from the Prairie View community to help plan/coordinate the festival held September 13-15 . We have monthly meetings and would love to have some new ideas to help give input and plan this community event that donates 1/3 of it's profits to the Prairie View PTO.
The next Harvest Fest meeting is Wednesday, March 13 at 6:30 at the North Prairie Fire Department, 108 Oakridge Dr, North Prairie. If you have any questions, please contact: Melissa Barton, bartome@masd.k12.wi.us or Frank Rewasiewicz, harvestfestinfo@yahoo.com

Specials Report - Art Classes - Mrs. Engelking
It’s been a busy month in the art room. The fifth and sixth grade students have finished their glass fusing and they are impressed with the results. Ask your child if they wanted their glass piece to be fired as a tack fuse or a full fuse. They should know the difference and they should be able to tell you about the firing process. Some students chose to make a magnet and others chose a pendant or decoration. Everyone did a great job and followed all the safety guidelines.
If your child is in kindergarten, ask him/her about their 100 line painting. Find out how they kept track of which number they were on. While working on this project, we looked at Russian artist, Kandinsky’s work. If you have time this weekend, consider bringing his artwork up on the computer and talking to your child about the various lines that Kandinsky used.
This past Monday, the PTO voted on artwork to be part of our permanent gallery at Prairie View. Students will find out the winners on the last day of school. So exciting!
Ask your child what he/she has been doing…
· Kindergarten – 100 line paintings to celebrate the 100th day of school!
· 1st Grade – Paper weavings
· 2nd Grade – Ice cream sundae sculptures
· 3rd /4th Grade – Mosaics
· 5th /6th Grade – 3D cakes
