October 2024

From the Desk of Ms. Ulloa
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through November. This year has been filled with wonderful moments. E-TECH staff and students are building strong relationships, and we’re proud of our students for overcoming challenges as we move through the first semester. We are especially grateful for your patience as we were correcting schedules to ensure all students were in their required courses. We want to keep you updated on our program and school activities.
Dallas College’s fall semester is nearing completion. Students enrolled in dual credit courses have finals from December 9th-12th. With only a few weeks left, please remind your child to stay on top of their assignments. Many courses have significant end-of-course projects, tests, or finals that heavily impact their final grades. It’s crucial for students to remain focused and motivated.
High school end-of-semester testing is scheduled for December 16th-20th. Students will take assessments covering their learning from the entire semester. We recommend starting to study two weeks in advance to ensure ample review time. After-school tutorials are available for any student needing extra help. Let’s finish this semester strong.
Finally, it’s recruitment season! We’re actively recruiting students for the 2025-2026 school year. We’ve been visiting campuses across the city and meeting many promising candidates. Hillcrest E-TECH has participated in several middle schools’ high school preview nights and hosted our own preview night in October. On November 9th, we will be at the Discover Dallas event from 9:00-12:00 at Fair Park. We will continue visiting middle schools through January and will be hosting an OPEN HOUSE for prospective candidates on Nov. 13th here at Hillcrest. If you know anyone interested in applying to Hillcrest E-TECH, please share our website and encourage them to reach out for more information.
