Holiday Shopping at Phelps
We are so excited for our annual holiday shopping event! Your student will be sent home with 10 gift labels. Please talk with your child about who they want to shop for, write the recipient's name on the label, and have your child bring their labels back to school on their grade’s designated shopping day along with their shopping money. All gifts at Holiday Shopping are $2 each.
Shopping Schedule:
Monday 12/16 Grade 4
Tuesday 12/17 Grade 3
Wednesday 12/18 Grade 2
Thursday 12/19 Grade 1
NEW THIS YEAR: Thursday 12/19 from 5-7pm the shop will be open for parents to shop too!
We need parent volunteers in order to hold this event! We are particularly in need of parent volunteers for Monday, December 16 (with grade 4), and Thursday, December 19 (with our grade 1 students). If you are able to help, please sign up for a time slot today. We need you!
Please sign up via the SignUpGenius below to help wrap and be a “shopping assistant” for the students. Volunteers MUST have an active CORI on file at the school.

Save Those Coats! Coat Drive Going on NOW Through December 13 (LAST WEEK!!!)
As you clean out your closets and bins for the cold weather season, please save any coats (both adult or children's sizes) that are in good condition to donate to our coat drive, which will take place November 15-December 13, 2024. It is our hope to collect and donate many coats to those who are in need of them this season. Our Grade 4 Student Council will be in charge of coordinating this event. It will be a House Competition to see which Phelps House can donate the most coats for those in need. Thank you for searching your closets and bins!
Dress for the Weather!
Just a reminder that students enjoy a 20 minute recess each day. Recess will be held outdoors each day, unless we have inclement weather (rain or snow) or if temperatures fall below 25 degrees. Please be sure your child is prepared with a winter coat, hat, and gloves/mittens for the cold weather. If you need help getting a warm coat, hat, or mittens/gloves for your child, please send an email to our school nurse, Shani McGarry, our school adjustment counselor, Holly Gage, or the school principal, Michelle Scheufele. Scroll all the way down to the end of this newsletter for contact information. We are happy to help!
