Principal's Message
What a phenomenal week of accomplishments at Dublin High School!
On Wednesday, Senior Caitlyn Nesbitt signed to continue her athletic and academics at the next level with Duke University.
We proudly hosted Apply to College Week, welcoming more than 20 recruiters from colleges and universities to our campus. This event resulted in an outstanding achievement—50 of our seniors gained admission to Middle Georgia State University!
On the same day, we had the honor of hosting region coaches and basketball players for Media Day as Dublin High and other region schools gear up for the 2024-2025 GHSA Basketball Season. It was exciting to see the energy and preparation as region athletes prepare for a promising season ahead.
The week ended with a truly inspiring milestone: congratulations to Jarvis Wiggins! Jarvis completed all requirements for graduation from Oconee Fall Line Technical College, earning two Technical Certificates in Welding, and simultaneously fulfilled all high school graduation requirements through the Accelerated Career Diploma program. What an incredible example of dedication and perseverance by this student-athlete.
This week highlights our unwavering commitment to "High Achievement and Success for All Students." Let’s continue to strive for greatness together!
With pride,
Michael Overstreet
Caitlyn Nesbitt signs with Duke University
Congratulations to Caitlyn Nesbitt on signing with Duke Softball! Nesbitt finished with more than 500 strikeouts for her career, and a better than .500 average this season as she led the Lady Irish to the playoffs for the first time since 2016. We are so proud of you, Cait!
DHS Apply to College Week: A Huge Success!
Dublin High School celebrated Apply to College Week with an exciting lineup of events aimed at empowering students on their college journey.
The week kicked off with a Senior Breakfast featuring inspirational talks from Dr. Thomas and Mr. Lanier, who shared their personal college experiences, motivating seniors to take the next step toward their futures.
On Wednesday, students took advantage of Free Application Day through their GAfutures accounts, with Middle Georgia State University admissions representatives on-site. The highlight of the day? Fifty seniors from the Class of 2025 received on-the-spot acceptances—a monumental moment for these students!
Thursday concluded the week with a college fair like no other. Representatives from 20 colleges and universities visited the DHS campus, giving juniors and seniors the chance to connect, ask questions, and gather valuable information about their options. To top it all off, one lucky senior, Chase Colbert, walked away with a free HP laptop!
This incredible week of opportunities was made possible by Communities in Schools, demonstrating their commitment to the success of DHS students.
DHS Apply to College Week wasn’t just about applications; it was about opening doors and creating bright futures!

Heroes Honor Run Hosted by JROTC
In addition to proudly supporting our schools' programs that honor the brave men and women who've dedicated their lives to protecting our freedom, this year, our Dublin City Schools College and Career Academy JROTC cadets took an extra step by hosting their inaugural Heroes Honor Run. Ultimately, the cadets raised $500 for the Wounded Warriors Project! Their dedication exemplifies their commitment to giving back, while embodying values of service and leadership.
However, Sgt. Phillip Baham said these characteristics aren't just reserved to Dublin High School-Georgia's JROTC cadets.
"It’s not just JROTC," he said. "Our goal is to fall in line with the values of Dublin High School as we strive to make globally competitive students. We teach them communication; we teach them leadership skills, we teach them conflict resolution. We want to ensure they’re successful not only during high school but after."
Though today's run has come to a close, the cause endures. If you’d like to support this important effort, please contact greg.bailey@dcsirish.com or philip.baham@dcsirish.com.
