A Note From Dr. Stewman

Our long weekend is almost here! Monday is the Labor Day Holiday. I hope you and your family enjoy time together.

Over the past few weeks teachers and the Student Support Team have given assessments to students regarding phonemic awareness, phonics, reading and foundational math skills. Time has been built into the daily schedule to ensure that we provide EVERY child with the appropriate intervention or extension in reading and math to achieve at high levels. As always, thank you immensely for entrusting your children to us!

Last year our School of Innovation Proposal was accepted at the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. When we were devising a plan we formed a council of students, teachers, community members, and parents. If you are still interested in serving or are interested in joining the council, please complete this brief form. There will be very few meetings, which can be face to face or virtual. We value your voice!

- Live student performances including Springdale Schools choirs, bands and spirit squads, and more!

- Food Specials: $1.50 BBQ Sliders or Six for $6 in the Bullpen Concession stand in right field
- Northwest Arkansas Naturals baseball game that starts @ 7:05 PM that you can't miss!

Click HERE to complete the online application for free & reduced lunches for this year. We will be sending paper copies home the week of August 29th to those who have not filled one out yet. Even if you are not sure if you will qualify, please fill out the form and return it to us.

If you (or a spouse, grandparent, other guardian) want to receive the "The Scholarly Beat" and other alerts through text you must sign up every year.

Arrival and Dismissal Reminders

In order to keep the car line moving safely at arrival and dismissal, please assist with the following:

students get out of and into vehicles on the passenger side. If you can please make adjustments for this to occur so our staff and students are not walking into the traffic.
if you child needs to be buckled in (dismissal) please pull up or pull in a parking space to get them buckled prior to exiting the parking lot.
upon pulling up at the arrival locations in the morning, please make sure students have their backpacks ready to go and all tech devices placed in the car.

Note:

It is illegal for any driver, of any age, to use a handheld device (AKA: cell phone) while passing through a school zone. That includes text messages and voice calls. If you absolutely must take that call on your daily commute, hands-free devices are acceptable in school zones for drivers over the age of 18. Thank you for keeping our Scholars safe!

School begins at 7:45 a.m. We did not document any tardies the first two weeks of school.

Each family received two car tags. Students have a matching tag on their backpack. If you need to purchase additional tags, please come to the office. They are $2 each.

The back of each car tag has the contactless check-in and out QR codes and directions. Remember to use the first 3 parking spaces if you are checking your child/children in or out once school is in session.
