SAFETY FIRST
Thank you to everyone for continuing to help keep all of our students safe on their way to and home from school. Just as a reminder to continue to follow all of the parking lot safety measures to ensure all of our students and families are safe.
Giving Campaign Kick Off!
Dear Panther Families,
The Home and School Club's primary funding source begins today: the Giving Campaign. Your support helps to provide what state funding does NOT cover for our students and staff.
HSC-funded support includes:
- Teacher stipends for classroom activities
- Music scholarships
- Field trips
- Mental Health Funding
- Supplies for our elective classes
- PE equipment and extracurricular sports
- After school athletics
If you are in a position to give, thank you! The suggested family donation is $250 per student, but there is no right or wrong amount. We appreciate any and all support. Remember to check if your employer matches contributions, as that adds to our funding success. Homework Center
Hello everyone!
Does your student need a quiet place to study and do homework? Price has the answer! Homework Center will be starting on Monday, August 26. It will run Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4pm. 6th, 7th and 8th graders will meet in the library. Students will need to turn in a "permission slip" directly to the Homework Center teacher on their first day (the permission slips DO NOT go to the office or individual teachers).
Valley Sports After School Program
Join Valley Sports at Price's Fall After School Sports Program! Students will play Basketball, Soccer, and/or Volleyball that will focus on skill and team development. Multi-Sport games will be a mix of our camper favorite middle school summer camp games, such as Hula Hut Throwdown, Capture the Flag, Dodgeball, Tennis Baseball, etc. This fun program is FREE for all girls and boys at Price in grades 6th-8th grade. Classes will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, from 3:00 - 4:30. Session dates will be September 9th - December 13th (13 weeks). This class is great for all levels of athleticism, and will also focus on sportsmanship, building confidence, making friends, and of course FUN! If you have any questions about the program, please reach out to Kim Mercer, kim@valleysportscamp.com

Free School Meals
Cambrian School District is pleased to offer all students complimentary breakfast and lunch meals. Meals will be available for pickup in the cafeteria during scheduled meal periods. Please consider taking advantage of our FREE school meals by clicking here and signing up. It extends your grocery budget, saves time planning and preparing meals, and is comforting and familiar for kids to have school meals. In addition, every meal served is reimbursed by the USDA and funds go toward Child Nutrition staff wages. Please note that you are not taking food away from someone who needs it more – we have plenty to go around!
Rocketry - 2 Liter Bottles Needed
Rocketry needs 2-Liter Soda Bottles. We need a lot this year...around 350. Please save your soda bottles. Rinse, cap them and send them to school. No crushed bottles please. Your student can deliver them to Mrs. Van Campenhout in room 39 and earn themselves some Proud Grams.
Thank you for your support.
Attendance is critical to student success!
Did you know...
- By 6th grade, absenteeism is one of three signs that a student may drop out of high school.
- By 9th grade, attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than 8th grade test scores.
ATTENDANCE TIPS
• Talk about the importance of showing up to school every day.
• Help your children maintain daily routines, such as finishing homework and getting a good night’s sleep.
• Try not to schedule dental and non-urgent related medical appointments during the school day.
• Keep your student healthy, and if you are concerned about Covid-19, call your school for advice.
• If your children must stay home because they are sick, make sure they have asked teachers for resources and materials to make up for the missed learning time in the classroom.
