Milkovich Middle School
August 2024

Principal Message
Greetings!
I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to the 2024-25 school year. As we move into this new year, it is my hope and desire that we will continue to work together as we build a school community that promotes the academic and social growth of all students.
As we begin this new year, it is my hope that we will be able to BUILD MORE TOGETHER working as a team to make sure that all of our students succeed.
With the anticipation of a new school year, I want to invite and encourage students, parents and staff to get excited about a new season and a fresh start. On the first day of school which is August 16th for sixth grade and August 19th for 7th and 8th grade students, we will welcome new students, new staff, returning students and returning staff members. As we move into this new year, it is my hope and desire that we are able to work together and that we start the new year realizing that there will be some changes that we will have to adapt to with greater opportunities for personal growth along with student growth.
It is our desire to work with parents as partners to bring about a collective and community approach to helping our students to be successful. Our day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 2:55p.m. The students may enter the building at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast. Students who select not to eat breakfast will sit in the gymnasium until students are released to class. Milkovich provides universal feeding, so all students receive a free breakfast and lunch daily. Students arriving after 8:01 will be marked tardy.
Car riders are to be dropped off and picked up in the front of the building during arrival and dismissal. School busses will use the parking lot on the side of the building to drop off and pick up students. All students will enter through the front entrance only.
We have a security protocol that all students and individuals entering the building must go through, therefore I would encourage students to be mindful of the time that it actually takes to enter the building.
Please note that we have made some changes to our dismissal procedure. Our 6th grade students who are riding on the school buses will be dismissed at 2:50 PM. The buses will leave the property at 2:55 pm. All remaining students which includes riders and walkers will leave in the respective manner. 2:55 PM – 8th grade; and 2:57 PM-7th grade.
I am looking forward to working with each of you this school year. Together we can BUILD MORE TOGETHER!
