At St. Patrick School we are commited to continued growth and optimal student learning. Our 4 pillar School Assurance Plan focuses on Faith Intergration, Learners and Learning, Systemic Wellness and Community Engagment. You will notice below that our weekly newsletter's content is divided into the 4 pillars. This keeps us as a school accountable to our plan moving foward and allows us to share with the school community what we are doing as a school to reach our goals.

Some of these projects are hanging in our classroom windows and some you will see hanging in the windows at your home. We are Rooted in Christ here at St.Pats!

To create a greater understanding of number sense, grade 3G has been working on place value. Creating a strong sense of place value will help students with number operations.

We had 82 grade 3 and grade 4 students participate in the first of three cross county runs! Way to go SAINTS!!!

In the next few months as a school we will be practicing our Emergency Drills. This will include 3 practice fire drills, 1 practice lockdown and 1 shelter in place.

Some grade 4 students have started their safety patrol training this week. Keep an eye out in front of the school for our safety patrollers coming shortly.

At St. Patrick School we love getting outside for recess ! We know that fresh air and active play throughout the day is so important for student learning. To ensure your child has a great recess please ensure that they come to school dressed for the weather so they can enjoy their time outside.

Congrats to the Hiebert family for matching the most correct staff members with their student picutres at Meet the Staff Night.

3. On PowerSchool, Enter/Review Absences (in the top left-hand corner).

If calling during lunch time (12:00 - 12:30) please leave a message and Ms. Miller will return your call as soon as she can.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS

Parents wanting to volunteer at the school or for field trips need to have a Criminal Record Check, Child Intervention Check and sign a Volunteer Confidentiality Undertaking form.

Request forms for these can be picked up at the school office. If you are unsure if you have these documents already completed, you can call the office, and we can check. These checks can take a while to process so if you are wanting to volunteer, please get these done ASAP.

END OF DAY PHONE MESSAGES TO STUDENTS

If you have a message to pass onto your child for end of day arrangements, please call the school office no later than 3:10 pm. It is very difficult to track down a child once they have left the classroom at the end of the school day.

Fees are now active on Powerschool. If returning to school is a stressful time for your family, you may be eligible to have your school fees waived. Please read more about the EICS fee waiver policy and complete the following form if applicable. 2024-25 Fee Waiver Application.

Our busing is through Battle River School Division. If you have busing questions or still need to register for busing call 780-672-6131.

****PLEASE STAY CLEAR FROM BUS LANES AT THE BEGINNING OF OUR DAY AND AT THE END OF OUR DAY*****

We do have our Gr. 4's provide crosswalk patrol in front of the school but this likely will NOT occur for a few weeks until they have been properly trained. Please be careful using the crosswalks as our front street (53 Ave) is very busy before and after school.
