Good afternoon, Cardinal Families!

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! I am hoping you are just as excited as I am to start off this year. Our staff has planned some great things to get us focused on learning and setting you up for success.

If you haven’t already done so, please complete the online data confirmation and return the master agreement. Classes will not be activated until this is finished. If all this is complete, your student’s teacher will be reaching out to your student by noon on Monday to schedule individual and group meetings.

Just a reminder that the 9-12 grade students will have now have a online classroom meeting on Wednesdays AND an individual meeting with their teacher. K-8 students will continue to have daily class meetings and the weekly individual meeting. The group and individual meetings are BOTH required as part of the program. It is also important that your student check their email regularly, as this is the primary way teachers communicate with their students.

Please make sure all contact information in AERIES is up to date, since we send out information regularly. We are also on Facebook, Instagram, and use our school website regularly to post information and events at our school.

Lastly, we will continue to have laptop pickups until 4:00 today. If you have not picked up your laptop (or need to update your old one), please come by as soon as possible. School starts officially on Monday, and you will need this to begin your work!

Greetings, Cardinal Scholars and Families!

It is my pleasure to welcome everybody back to the new school year! I am excited to see the faces of our students—both in-person and virtually! We have a few reminders to start the year:

1. Registration: Registration must be completed by July 31st to enroll in courses and be assigned a teacher.

• For returning students:
• Online Data Confirmation must be done via your parent account on the AERIES parent portal: [AERIES Parent Portal](https://tracyusd.aeries.net/student/LoginParent.aspx)
• Signed Master Agreement MUST be turned in to the office (via email tracycharterschool@tusd.net or in-person). The PDF is attached below.
• For new students:
  
• Complete all of the above AND
• Attend an in-person Orientation session

2. Device Distribution: Last year, we collected computers to update them to the new Windows system. We will be having laptop distribution on August 1st and August 2nd from 9am - 3pm.

• Returning students: Will receive a laptop ONLY. If you did not turn in your student device at the end of last school year, please bring your old one so we can swap it out for an upgraded device.
• New students: Will receive a laptop, hotspot, and charger.

3. Communication: Teachers will be emailing both parents and students by the end of next week to set up weekly meeting times. It is vital that students learn to log in to their school email daily, as this is the way our teachers connect and work with their students.

4. Meeting Schedules:

• K-8th grade: Will continue to have DAILY group meetings with their teacher. The time will be given by the teacher.
• 9th-12th grade: Will have WEEKLY group meetings with their teacher on Wednesdays. These group meetings are required, and teachers will cover various information and lessons that pertain to all students. Please make sure to adjust your student's personal schedules to attend these meetings.

Lastly, we are excited to start off a new school year with renewed energy and enthusiasm. Let's work together to make this year a fantastic and successful one for all our students.

Time-Management Tip: Make To-Do Lists.

Each day make a list of all the things you need to do. Focus on one task at a time, and cross things off as they get done. At the end of each day, take the tasks that didn’t get done and put them on the next day’s To-Do list.

Time-Management Tip: Make a weekly schedule.

Each Sunday evening, take time to plan out the coming week. Make sure that you have enough time to do everything that’s scheduled.

Time-Management Tip: Use time wisely.

Use free time in school to start on homework. You’ll have a lot less work to do at night. Also look for chunks of time during the day that are wasted. Think about how you can use these times more effectively.

Time-Management Tip: Control time wasters.

Social media, TV, and video games can all be huge time wasters. Schedule small chunks of time for these activities, and stick to your schedule.

Time-Management Tip: Don’t overextend yourself.

If you’re doing more than you can handle, identify activities you can eliminate, shorten, or postpone. Do not give up sleep to get everything done.

Time-Management Tip: Create routines.

Having a good morning and nighttime routine will save you time, and help your day run more smoothly. Have a morning routine that includes getting up early enough to eat breakfast and not be rushed.
