Wishing You a Safe and Hope-Filled Easter Break
As I reach the end of my first term at Santa Clara, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff, students, and families who have welcomed me so warmly into this special community. It has been a joy to witness the spirit of kindness, care, and collaboration that makes Santa Clara such a vibrant place to learn and grow.
Easter is a season of deep meaning and great hope. It reminds us that even in times of challenge or change, God’s love brings renewal and new life. As we enter this holiday period, may it be a time of rest, connection, and joy for your family. Please take care of one another and stay safe—whether you're travelling or simply enjoying some quiet time at home.
May the hope of Easter live in your hearts:
"He is not here; He has risen, just as He said." – Matthew 28:6
Loving God, we thank You for the gift of Your Son and the hope that Easter brings. May our hearts be filled with peace, joy, and love this season. Keep all families safe over the holidays and bring us back together ready for a new term. Amen.
Wishing you a happy, holy, and safe Easter,
Julie Southwell
Principal
Year 6 Camp
Our Year 6 students are currently enjoying a wonderful camp experience in the Southwest, filled with adventure, learning, and laughter. The camp provides a fantastic opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones, explore the beauty of our state, and strengthen their connections with one another. We are incredibly proud of their positive behaviour, teamwork, and willingness to embrace new challenges. A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff who are giving their time away from their own families to make this camp possible—your support and care makes it an unforgettable experience for our students.
Easter Colouring Champions! 🐣🎨
A big congratulations to two of our talented Santa Clara artists who made their mark in the CEWA Easter Colouring Competition! An (Pre-Primary) wowed the judges and was awarded Runner-Up, while Nhu (Year 6) impressed as a finalist with her beautiful design. Over 1000 entries were submitted from Catholic school students for the competition. What an egg-cellent effort from both students—we’re so proud of their creativity and colour-filled Easter spirit!
Important Notice: Extended Leave from School
We are increasingly receiving requests from families to take their children out of school during term time for extended holidays or other commitments. While we understand that these plans are sometimes unavoidable, it’s important that families are aware of the impact such absences can have on student learning.
From the beginning of next term, all parents intending to take their child out of school for 5 days or more (including for holidays or pre-booked hospitalisation) will be required to complete a Leave of Absence Form.
This form outlines the school’s position on extended leave and highlights the potential impact on your child’s progress and engagement in their learning. Please note that the school will not be providing catch-up work or homework during or after the period of absence.
Action for Parents:
If you are planning extended leave for your child, please contact the school office to request a Leave of Absence Form or collect one from the front office.
Thank you for your understanding and support in prioritising consistent learning for all students.
Student Uniforms
As we prepare for Term 2, a reminder all students in years 1-6 are to present in their academic uniform Wednesday to Thursday. This includes school socks and all black shoes. Increasingly over this term we have had students wear coloured trainers and non-school socks on Academic Uniform days. Students will be reminded of this at the beginning of the first week. For students repeatedly not wearing the correct uniform a reminder email will be sent to parents.
