A Message from Principal Lockamy
Dear Timmerman Family,
Happy Thanksgiving! It's been a busy year so far at Timmerman Elementary. With the latest family events such as our PTO-sponsored Storybook Night and Dance, which included 4th and 5th grade musical performances, to our WatchDOGS night, Veteran's Day Celebration, and our 9-Weeks Awards Ceremonies, our Panthers and families have been busy celebrating and giving thanks. Thank you to our PTO Board, Timmerman staff, and families that have volunteered so many hours to help provide these opportunities for our students. Special thanks to Didi Hernandez and Martin Martinez, our PTO board co-presidents, for all of the support with our events. We appreciate your decorative eye and planning expertise!
Our next school event will be our Multicultural Celebration on December 12 at 4:30 to 6:00 at Timmerman Elementary. This event will include musical performances by our 2nd and 3rd grade students, free pizza, a potluck, and cultural display tables.
Optional: Please consider bringing a dish that represents a culture you would like to celebrate. Kids love to cook, and this is a great opportunity to share a culture with your child. My family and I will be bringing posole rojo, which is a pork and chile stew very popular in Mexico. Again, bringing dishes for the potluck is optional. If you have the time to prepare a dish great! We want to see you regardless.
Also Optional: Please consider working with your student(s) to create a cultural display of a culture or country that you would like to celebrate that may include a poster board or trifold. We will have a table available for you to use for your cultural display. The cultural display is really up to your imagination. Feel free to use the examples of cultural displays on the flyer below if it helps. Again, this is optional. If you have time to create a display, great! if not, great! We will be happy to see you regardless. Looking forward to a fun and informative Cultural Celebration with my Timmerman Family.
Finally, thank you to all of our teachers and staff for all of their dedication to the growth and development of our Panthers. I am so thankful for your caring spirit every day! I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving, and find this week a time of rest and joy.
For kids,
Chris Lockamy

Tips for Timmerman Families
- Please arrive to school early enough to give your child time to enter the building and get to class before 7:35 to avoid crowding and interruptions to student learning.
- If your child is bringing a lunch, remind them of what comes back home and what gets thrown away. Please remind your child to avoid sharing food of any kind for the safety of all of our Panthers.
- Please ensure your child has a filled water bottle to bring with them daily. They will be able to refill these throughout the day.
- Please make sure your information is correct in Skyward. All emergency contacts, etc. have current phone numbers. Family dynamics often change and this is what our office will use should a situation arise where we need to contact you. Our office will follow any court/legal documentation we have on file.
- Label ALL of your child's belongings. Often many articles of clothing are never claimed in the lost and found. This will help ensure your child keeps all of their belongings throughout the year.
- Please contact the school nurse with any medical/allergy information. Contact our nurse at
- cheryl.chambless@pfisd.net for questions. This is very important if there are any changes in medications from previous years.
- Please share any concerns that you have with classroom teachers as soon as possible. They should always be your first point of contact. Our teachers LOVE what they do and communication is key in maintaining a successful partnership throughout the year
- Your child's safety is our top priority. Please be patient with us as we work with you to try and create a smooth transition to and from school each day. Please call (512) 594-4200 for questions.
- Question: How do I change how my child gets home?
- Answer:
- To allow our teachers to concentrate on your little ones, any changes to transportation home must be made through the office before 1:00 pm. Please do not call or text teachers to change transportation. This can only be done through the front office at (512) 594-4200.
Safety Notifications:
- Please be aware and cautious when driving as we have staff and students that may be crossing in the front driveway. Please reduce your speed when driving on campus and especially after dropping off students.
- Please avoid dropping off students prior to 7:05 am. Please have them wait in your car until arrivals begin at 7:05 am. As a reminder, our doors open at 7:05 am, and we do not have staff supervising students before we open.
- Please follow the traffic patterns, respect traffic cones, and speed limits.
- Please reduce your speed in the parking lot especially after you drop off your students. This is a safety issue for everyone.
- Please do not drop your students off in the parking lot. This is a safety issue.
- Please walk students into the school if you are parking including when arriving after the tardy bell.
- Please come into the office to sign-in your child when arriving after the tardy bell. This is for your child's safety.
- Please do not use the handicap space if you do not have a handicap tag or license plate even for short period of time as this makes it difficult for families with students with special needs. We have many families that need them and are having to park an walk further than they should.
- Don't forget to add money to lunch accounts if you would like your students to purchase additional items such as frozen fruit snacks etc.
- Please drive slow and carefully in the neighborhoods around our schools. We have a lot of students walking to school, so please be alert when driving and keep your speed low.
