We are excited to recognize our school community's diversity and promote cultural respect as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! Throughout the upcoming week, we will show our excitement for Hispanic/Latino culture in the following ways:
- Monday, September 16: Wear the colors of a Latin American country (or sports jersey)!
- Tuesday, September 17: Dress like a famous Latina/o!
- Wednesday, September 18: Wear a flower, cowboy hat, or cowboy boots!
- Thursday, September 19: Wear the traditional clothes from a country in Latin America!
- Friday, September 20: Wear bright or neon clothes!
On Friday, September 27, join us for a Garden Festival from 4:30-6:00 p.m.! Families will plant flowers in our courtyard, enjoy a meal in the cafeteria, and watch a dance performance!
All families are invited to join us from 6:00-7:30 p.m. this Wednesday, September 18, for our Back-to-School Night! While our students are welcome to attend with their parents/caregivers, we do ask that younger children do not attend to minimize disruptions. We will have a brief welcome in our All-Purpose Room from 6:00-6:10 p.m. Families will then be able to attend two classroom sessions--6:10-6:50 p.m. and 6:50-7:30 p.m. Community partners will have tables set up in our All-Purpose Room with information and giveaways.
Did you know that MCPS will once again provide FREE Chromebooks and/or MiFi (wireless internet) devices for students to use at home? In addition to utilizing these devices for homework purposes, there is a possibility that MCPS will need to transition to virtual instruction for any predictable, multi-day scenarios. If you would like to request a FREE Chromebook for your child, please click HERE or e-mail your child's teacher.
