PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear PK8 Families,
We are so fortunate to be able to host many after school sports activities at our school! The 7th/8th grade football, volleyball, and basketball games on our campus provide an excellent opportunity for all of our families and students to support our PK8 Eagles.
I want to remind students and families of student expectations at extracurricular events:
- the purpose of attending an extracurricular event is to support the teams in the gym or on the field
- we encourage students to be accompanied by a family member at all extracurricular events
- students who attend after school sporting events are expected to demonstrate the same appropriate behavior as if they are at school.
- campus-wide staff supervision is not provided during extracurricular events
- students must remain either in the commons if they are eating a snack, or in the gym watching the sporting event
- when in the gym, students should be seated with their parents or in the student section
- students may not be playing on the playground unsupervised by an adult
- the commons area is not a space for playing games, or just hanging out after school
- students should cheer appropriately for our team and not conduct any taunting cheers directed at our opponents
- any students who are not behaving appropriately will be told to leave school property, and may not be allowed to attend future events
Please help us ensure our extracurricular events are a positive experience for our athletes and student body. If you are allowing your child to stay for a game after school, especially without parental supervision, please review the rules above prior to our next home games.
As always, thank you for your support of our athletes, our students, and our school. We have an amazing school in an amazing community; working together we will continue to see our students and school thrive.

Our 6th grade students are raising funds for their annual trip to Denver to visit the Museum of Nature and Science as well as the Denver Zoo.
You can support these students by purchasing butterbraids. Click on the link below to visit the online store. You can select a 6th grade student to get credit for your order, and let that student know you ordered from them so they may deliver the butterbraids to you.

Student Council Canned Food Drive
The Paonia K-8 Student Council is starting a food drive next week so that we can deliver canned and boxed food items to the Paonia Food Pantry before Thanksgiving. This will be a class competition, with the class collecting the most amount of items winning a classroom pizza party. Please send in cans or boxes of food and place them in your box by Thursday, November 21.
Annual Giving Tree
The Annual Christmas Drive for the Paonia Care Center starts Monday, November 18th and runs through December 10th. We want to help make Christmas bright for our North Fork seniors who are not living with their families. There is a little Christmas tree in the lobby with gift suggestion ornament tags. If you want to help, pick a tag, buy the gift, and return the UNWRAPPED gift to the box under the table in the lobby. Please bring in the gift if you take a tag.
Thanks in advance for making Christmas brighter for our seniors!!!
