President's Letter
It is an honor to serve as the President of the ISABB, a prestigious blood banking association. I look forward to my term with you and commit to working with the Board along with members as we fulfill our mission to promote and foster the exchange of ideas, materials and the dissemination of information relating to transfusion medicine and its technical methodology through education, publicity and/or research.
New findings, technologies, treatments and research are developing in medicine every day. ISABB provides an outstanding opportunity to learn, catch up with colleagues, pursue networking, and interact with industry leaders in transfusion medicine.
I would like to give a special thank you to all the committee members for their continued efforts in improving our local organization. We are always looking for fresh ideas and new members. If you are interested and want to share your talents, please let any board or committee member know. It is very rewarding being a part of this organization. I am always amazed at the quality of speakers we have at our educational sessions. I hope to see everyone online at the meeting in September.

ISABB is in the process of identifying individuals who would be interested in serving the organization in one of the following roles:
Assistant Treasurer
The position of Assistant Treasurer is to be knowledgeable of these responsibilities and would be able to perform them in the Treasurer's absence:
- Collecting and depositing of membership dues and other income for the organization.
- Disbursing funds for payment and/or reimbursement.
- Filing the organization’s tax information annually and to provide this tax information upon request.
- Keeping accurate records of these transactions and giving annual and periodic Treasury reports to the Board.
Legislative Committee Chair
The Legislation Committee monitors State and National regulators and accreditors for new or pending legislation that could impact blood banks.
- Chairperson is responsible for attending the Monthly and Annual Meetings to report on any new or pending legislation that could impact blood banks.
- Legislation Committee Members are responsible for sending information to the Chairperson regarding applicable new or pending legislation that could impact blood banks.
- The Chairperson or Members may be asked to provide a written summary of new or pending legislation for distribution to the general membership by e-mail, newsletter, or social media.
2022-2024 Board Members
Board Members serve a two-year term, and play an important role within the organization by attending meetings and voting on important issues.

Nominate a Colleague for the 2022 Victor Muller Award
This award was established in 1991 to honor Victor Muller, MD for outstanding achievement in the field of Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine. This award recognizes an individual who has consistently demonstrated a commitment of excellence towards education, science, patient care and community service in relation to the field of Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine.
Recipient criteria is:
- An individual may be a member or nonmember of ISABB.
- An individual who has given many years of dedicated service to the field of Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine. Specifically:
- An individual who has contributed substantially to the field of Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine in the area of applied research, education and bench application -or-
- An individual who has concerned themselves with the educational advancements and technical training of persons interested in the field of Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine -or-
- An individual who, through dissemination of administrative duties, has enhanced and fostered the growth of the field of Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine -or-
- An individual who, through their work in the field of Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine, has inspired co-workers and/or students to work and contribute to this field, -or-
- An individual who has given outstanding service to the community.
ISABB members are encouraged to nominate individuals. The Board/Nominating Committee will make the final selection. They may request a C.V. on the person nominated. This award may be given posthumously. Nominations can be submitted via e-mail to president@isabb.org.
