Bay City Central students present to Board of Education
During a recent meeting of the BCPS Board of Education, freshman students from Bay City Central High School reported on their school year so far. Namely, how the new project-based learning curriculum is going for their class.
Students shared what a typical day looked like for them, how they're part of the P.A.C.K. (Perseverance, Agency, Collaboration, Kindness), and about current projects they are working on. Ryan Marciniak and Elijah Riedlinger spoke about their World Studies class and how they're discovering global connections. Kallie Kaczmarek and Lauren Bontekoe shared their project about ecosystems in state parks for their BioTech class. Lastly, Natalya Ziolkowski presented her Health class project about training guides.
Opportunities for our students to work together and become comfortable presenting their work to a variety of audiences is a key component of project-based learning and, ultimately, successful outcomes for our students.

Local professionals: We need your help!
Our Bay City Public School seniors are preparing for the Senior Defense, a capstone of their education that is a major step in their journey to adulthood. This new graduation requirement connects their learning with the broader community, showcasing how they apply what they’ve learned in school to their own life stories.
BCPS is asking the local professional community to participate in a unique opportunity to hear from our seniors as a panelist. You will hear directly from students and offer feedback, gaining insight from our future leaders in the process.
