The Big Kahuna Fundraiser will begin Monday, February 24th and go through Monday, March 10th! Our campus is allowed one fundraiser per year this is it (the fall fundraiser is a PTO fundraiser) !
The money raised in this fundraiser will be used to enrich the environment for Bertram Elementary students and staff with things such as student incentives, staff awards, instructional supplies and resources, and family involvement activities. The funds raised in this fundraiser go a long way in helping Bertram Elementary be the place to be! We thank you in advance for your support!
PTO General Meeting
Our 5th grade students recently visited BMS for campus-wide welcome events like touring elective choices in action, school-wide pep-rally, and much more! Students received their course-selection sheets, and information about the due dates and opportunities to learn more was just recently shared by BMS principal, Mrs. Stewart. Please read the information below if you have a current 5th grader going to Middle School next year:
5th grade parents: please read the message previously sent from BMS Principal, Ms. Stewart:
Dear 5th grade parents,
We enjoyed hosting your 5th grade at our campus on Friday where they attended a pep rally, ate lunch at the middle school, and heard about all of the elective options. Your student should have brought home a course selection sheet for you to preview the elective choices as well.
Thank you for all your participation in our course selection night! Below is the link to the Course Selection form for you and your student to complete by Friday, March 7th. All incoming 6th graders will need to complete this form so we know your elective choices for the 2025-2026 school year.
2025-2026 6th Grade Course Selection Form
Thank you, and have a wonderful rest of week!

Family Bingo Night
We look forward to hosting families Tuesday, March 11th for Family Bingo Night! We will have food, games, and prizes! Two sessions are scheduled - 5:00-5:30 and 5:40-6:20.
Attendance Matters
Bertram's ADA for was 84.64.
ADA stands for Average Daily Attendance and is defined as the total days of student attendance divided by the total days of instruction. We recognize that illnesses and events take place that necesitate absences, however, we do encourage every student to be in school every day he/she is able.
- Did you know that just 2 absences in a Six Weeks can mean YOUR child is CHRONICALLY ABSENT?
- Do you know the research about Chronically Absent student performance?
- Did you know that when Absences ADD UP this one statistic can contribute to below grade-level achievement and increase in social emotional anxiety for students?
- Attendance matters and absences add up! Make every day count.

Month of March Celebrations
Read Across America Day, March 2nd
Read Across America Day, also recognized as Dr. Seuss Day, is an annual event that promotes the joy of reading, especially among children. It is celebrated in honor of the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, famously known as Dr. Seuss. Darlene Denton, our amazing Parent-Volunteer Coordinator, coordinated volunteers to read a Dr. Seuss book to every one of our classes this week! Students will learn about some of the contributions of Dr. Seuss and enjoy some of the iconic stories that have charmed generations.
Say Something Week
Sandy Hook Promise’s Say Something program teaches students to recognize the warning signs of someone at-risk of hurting themselves or others and how to say something to a trusted adult to get help before a tragedy can occur.
Texas Girls in STEM Day, March 1st
March 1st is Texas Girls in STEM Day! This day marks a chance to celebrate and encourage the participation of girls in this state in fields related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Texas Girls in STEM Day gives many young girls the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and dive deeper into subjects they may not have been encouraged to explore otherwise.
