2. Honoring Black History Month – February 2025 - February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the rich heritage, achievements, and contributions of African Americans throughout history. This year at Page, our theme is “Black History in the DMV,” highlighting the impactful lives and legacies of individuals and groups who have lived or worked in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
Students will have the opportunity to research and study influential figures or organizations from the DMV region. They will showcase their learning through creative projects, which will be presented at our school assembly. Throughout February, our morning announcements will feature daily spotlights on Black History in the DMV. The calendar is below.
3. Celebrating Chinese New Year 2025 – The Year of the Snake! 🐍
Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, begins on January 29, 2025, ushering in the Year of the Snake. This vibrant celebration marks the start of the lunar new year and is filled with rich traditions, colorful decorations, family gatherings, and festive foods. The snake symbolizes wisdom, intuition, and transformation, making 2025 a year for growth and new beginnings.
