Reposts From Last Week's Smore!
- Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur:
Next week we mark the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, the commencement of the spiritual New Year in the Jewish faith. This year, the holiday celebration encompasses the time between sundown on Wednesday, October 2, through sundown on Friday, October 4, 2024. There is no school on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
In addition, the Jewish High Holiday for atonement, Yom Kippur, begins at sundown on Friday, October 11 and ends at sundown on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
These religious days are the most sacred on the Jewish calendar and signal the beginning and end of the Yamim Noraim, a ten day period beginning with Rosh Hashanah, followed by days of repentance, and ending with Yom Kippur. Daily meditation, prayer, and specific work restrictions are all part of the aforementioned holidays.
- We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month from 9/15-10/15. Please see the resources linked here to learn more about this wonderful celebration of culture.
- Please sign up for the First School bus parent app to track your child's bus route by going to this link.
- Remember to review the NEW District updates regarding PowerSchool regarding demographic verification and District permissions and other reminders in the final section of the newsletter

- Parking lot safety is imperative to ensure our students, staff, and families are safe. The speed limit is 5 mph. Please do not leave your car idling when you drop your child off. Staff will be there to support your child in the morning. Please be considerate of others when driving in the parking lot. Please be vigilant, so you are aware of traffic and pedestrians crossing the street. Finally, if you need to come into the building, please park in one of our visitors parking spots.
🎉 Have a great week, Crew!🏆
With gratitude,
Principal Lamour 🐾
