AMS Parent Update
~~~ 6-1-2024 ~~~
Dear AMS Parents and Families,
June has arrived! It is hard to believe we are in our final week of the 2023-24 school year! We're excited for the summer, yet it is somewhat bittersweet as we say "goodbye" and "see you later" to our students, families, and each other. We have a week packed with celebrations and events, and we look forward to enjoying these last several days with you and your children! Please remember that Friday is a half day of school. Specific details related to the last day of school will be sent to you later this week!
May was an event-filled month with MStep and NWEA testing, students danced the night away at our Spring Dances, and we enjoyed celebrating our awesome educators during Teacher Appreciation Week. Our 4th grader students visited the Science Center and hosted their awesome Wax Museum. Our 6th & 7th grade students were introduced to Xello for college and career readiness, and our incoming 4th grade students and parents attended our two Steppin' Up events to welcome them to our AMS family. Last, 7th grade students celebrated an amazing year with a fun-filled day at Urban Air.
The AMS talent show will be held on Monday, June 3rd in two afternoon performances (12:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.). Our first annual AMS Field Day is finally here and will be held on Tuesday, June 4th. We will also hold our final end-of-year ROCK Raffle on Wednesday and Thursday this week during lunches! I'd like to give a shout-out and express my sincere appreciation to our amazing PTSO, staff members, and parent volunteers for all of their hard work to make these events very special for our students!
As the weather is warming up and as we continue to strive for a positive and conducive school environment, I want to take a moment to remind everyone of our school's dress code policy outlined on pages 29 and 30 in the 2023-2024 Student Handbook. Please see the dress code details below. We kindly ask for your support in ensuring that your child adheres to these guidelines. By doing so, we can maintain a positive and respectful learning environment for all students.
Thank you to all of our sponsors (please see below) who supported us throughout the year to provide enriching learning opportunities, events, and celebrations. We truly honor and appreciate your support.
As always, thank you, parents, for doing your part to support and encourage your child(ren) to come to school every day ready to ROCK! I sincerely appreciate your continued partnership in your child's education. I sincerely hope EVERY AMS student has had an amazing and successful school year. GO RAIDERS!
With warmest regards,
Barb Lewis
