November Activities Update
Always great to be a Spartan
Raise the Praise
Brent Sands continues to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays to ensure our girls are able to lift in a productive, safe environment. Thanks Brent!
With all of the delays our construction has caused in regards to the grand opening of the Auditorium, I wanted to acknowledge the flexibility our Fine Arts department has exhibited over the last few months. We once again have to move the musical and not once I have heard negativity come out of the mouths of any of them. Thank you!
Opportunity for Growth
What else would you like information on regarding activities? If you have any ideas that you think could/would benefit this group, please send me an email with suggestions. Thanks!
Advice for What it is Worth
-Build relationships; it may be the most important skill you can develop.
-Be a life long learner. Never stop questioning.
-Go the extra mile for the team. Do what needs to be done without being asked.
-Be flexible. Change is inevitable.
-Be Kind.
-Choose to keep a positive outlook.
-Stay grateful and appreciative of others. You will be happier that way.
-Have grit and never quit.
Little Reminder and.....
CPR Certification for Coaches
The BoEE recently voted to adopt amendments to Iowa Administrative Code that will require current CPR certification for certain coaches. The BoEE received comments supporting the change from the American Heart Association (Midwest Affiliate), the Iowa Athletic Trainers Society, and the Iowa Medical Society.
The proposal will affect the following applicants:
- Applicants applying for their first coaching endorsement
- Applicants applying for their first coaching authorization
- Applicants renewing their coaching authorization
These applicants will need to present a current certificate of CPR certification when applying for one of the above transactions. Coaching authorization and endorsement programs will be embedding the training into their coursework.
We anticipate the rule going into effect on 12/14/16. Holders of the coaching authorization who need to renew may wish to be proactive and seek out CPR training now to prevent any licensure delays. Coaches may be able to complete CPR training at school districts where it is offered to high school students, and it will be accepted if certification is achieved.
*Those of you that expressed a need for monthly financial reports will begin receiving those this week. Like I stated before, I will begin sending them out after each monthly board meeting.

There is a difference between interest and commitment. When you are interested in doing something, you do it when it only is convenient. When you are committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results. https://stevekeating.me/2016/11/06/where-success-comes-from/
