Cornwall School News 12/13/24

Message from the Principal
We had two very special events at Cornwall this week: Winter Crafts and a band concert. The snapshots of these will go in next week’s newsletter, but I wanted to highlight the power of school rituals and traditions. School rituals create a sense of belonging and purpose, and provide regular, predictable opportunities for students to shine. Routines like our daily morning meetings, gathering for All School Meeting, and the various call-and-responses we use all help to ground students and provide opportunities for learning, but they’re also rituals. Special, once-a-year traditions like Winter Crafts and the band concert are a common experience that create memories and reinforce our common community identity, year after year.
With a full heart,
Nadya

Thank you for all the cardboard donations! The kinders planned, built and decorated a village of gingerbread houses. They worked together to build a class house, but this class was so excited and inspired that they grabbed tools, grouped up, and created a whole village! We witnessed self-regulation practice, great communication and fantastic problem solving. All week, kinders played in their gingerbread village.
