Dear Steele families,

As we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, I wanted to bring your attention to some important changes regarding parking at Steele Elementary.

New Staff Parking Passes
We have implemented a new system for our staff members. All Steele staff now have designated parking passes that are displayed in their vehicles. This change allows us to identify staff cars in our parking lot easily.

Parking Lot Restrictions
I want to remind everyone that the Steele parking lot is not open to families at any time during the day. This includes both drop-off and pick-up times. We understand that this may require some adjustment to your routines, and we appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Safety Measures
To ensure compliance with these new procedures, Steele staff members will be present to redirect any families who attempt to use the parking lot for drop-off or pick-up. We kindly ask that you follow their instructions and use the designated areas for student drop-off and pick-up.

Why These Changes?
These new measures have been put in place to enhance the safety of our students and staff. By limiting access to the parking lot, we can better control traffic flow and reduce potential risks during busy times of the day.

We greatly appreciate your understanding and partnership in keeping our Steele community safe. Together, we can ensure a safe environment for all our students.

The talent show will be held on February 27th in the Steele Auditorium. A day-time performance for students will be held at 1:30pm with an evening performance for families at 5:00pm. All performers must fill out a permission slip by Monday, February 3rd!! @ 9:00 AM. Here is the link to the talent show permission slip!

Every student MUST have a completed permission slip and no late forms will be accepted. Auditions will be held Wednesday, February 5th and Thursday, February 6th after school, 3:15-4:15pm.

Show line-up will be posted on Friday, February 7th at 3:05pm.

Lost & Found will be collected for donation next Friday, Jan 31! Please make sure to check it out for any lost items. The rack is located in the lobby next to the lunch room.

A Family Resource Toolkit is available in English and Spanish, and contains information and resources about rights, current DPS policies, training, mental health support, DPS resources, community resources and more.

Our next CSC meeting is on Monday, January 27th from 5:00-6:00 pm in room 211. CSC meetings are always open to the community, so come on by! This month's discussion focuses on the budget and you can find the minutes here.

Girls on the Run's spring season is launching at Steele on March 3, with registration opening on February 3! Girls on the Run's mission is to instill valuable life skills including the important connection between physical and emotional health. Practices will be held at Steele on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15-4:30 from March 3 - May 14, with the end of season 5k taking place on November 12. The Steele Science Fair is back in 2025! The Science Fair will be held on Friday, March 7 with a community open house the night before on Thursday, March 6.
