Field Flash
May 26, 2023
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
We hope you've had a nice week and enjoy this upcoming three-day weekend. As a reminder, we do not have school on Monday.
A note about Field Day next week...children will be outside for about 90 minutes. Please apply sunscreen at home before school, send your child with their water bottle, and students can wear baseball/sun hats outside.
We've made excellent progress on our student registration. Please know that any families not registered by June 1st will be fully unenrolled and will receive a records release, as we will assume you are moving to another district. For more information, visit https://www.d64.org/about/register.
A few reminders:
Now that the weather has warmed up, many families are remaining after school to play on the playground at Field. Please remember that there is not adult supervision, so parents should supervise children on the playground. We do appreciate if you follow our school playground rules (no climbing on top of the covered slides or up the slides are two important ones).
Please know outside toys, like Pokemon cards, should not be brought to school. Please double check with your child to be sure Pokemon cards are left at home.
Please note the playground is CLOSED before school, as there is no supervision.
We know some students have Smart Watches or cell phones - please know students are not permitted to use these items during the day. Devices should be powered off or set to a "school time". If your child needs to contact you, they can use the phone in our office.
Please remember to use the sidewalks (rather than the staff parking lot) when walking to and from Field. We do have staff who are arriving or leaving during these times.
Please continue to remember that dogs are not allowed at arrival and dismissal.
If your child (or you) ride a bike or scooter to and from school, please walk the vehicle on the blacktop.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Courtney Goodman
Principal

School Supply Recycling
It’s time to sort out school supplies! The Field Green Team would like to encourage all families to help students sort through their school supplies by
Reusing as many of their school supplies as possible for the next school year. Check out these lists.
Donating any gently used school supplies like notebooks, folders, writing & drawing utensils, rulers, pencil cases, etc. Field School will have a donation box inside near the office. We will also have a drop box at 12 N. Merrill June 5th-June 11th and will take the items to Scarce an organization who works to reduce waste and give back to students everywhere.
We will have a separate box for dried out pens, markers, crayons, and old pencils. Scarce will take those items to recycle.
Recycling all paper products (notebooks/folders). Just make sure to remove any metal parts.
Thank you for helping make the world a greener place!
