Greetings,
We have had another successful week at Cedar! As a reminder, there will be no school Tuesday, November 6th. Please continue to log-in to parent portal to check your student’s tardies, attendance, and grades. We are quickly approaching the end of the semester, so please encourage your Jag student to power through and do their best. As always, please let our administrative team know if you have any questions or concerns. We hope everyone has a great weekend! Go Jags!

WJAG-TV and BluePrints Magazine staff members will be broadcasting this Friday's football game live against Walnut Grove. The Jaguars can clinch a home playoff game with either a win or a Clarke Central loss in their game against Buford. Please see the attached letter from Walton EMC that tells you about the Walton EMC Scholarship. Eleven scholarships in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded for 2019. The scholarship application postmark deadline is Friday, January 18, 2019.
DAWGS for Diabetes Walk at UGA
Families of children with type 1 diabetes have extra concerns when it comes to transitioning from high school to college- we want to address those concerns!
We invite you and your family to attend on Sunday, November 4th from 11-4 PM at the University of Georgia!
Please RSVP by Saturday, October 27th. You will be able to register after this date, but we ask that you please submit a donation to cover last-minute costs.
The event is free for families impacted by type 1, but we do accept donations!

Georgia Business Aviation Scholarship
Georgia Business Aviation Association has Scholarship opportunities available for those students interested in pursuing a Career in Business Aviation.

Jack Cooke Kent Scholarship
The Jack Cooke Kent Foundation Scholarship goes live on September 6th! This scholarship is open until November 20th. What type of candidates are they looking for? Cooke Scholarship recipients are selected from a nationwide applicant pool each year. As a minimum criteria, students must:
Plan to graduate from a U.S. high school in spring 2019
Intend to enroll full time in an accredited 4-year college in fall 2019
Earn a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above in high school
Receive a minimum SAT total of 1200 or ACT composite of 26
Demonstrate financial need. We will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000. Last year’s cohort of new scholarship recipients had a median family income of approximately $26,000.
La Unidad Latina Foundation Scholarship
UNG Cadet Scholarship
The state of Georgia funds 42 scholarship each year to Georgia students interested in joining the Georgia Army National Guard and the University of North Georgia Corps of Cadets. This means you can still have a full time job after graduating from college and be a part of the National Guard. Recipients of the University of North Georgia Military Scholarship (UNGMS) are even able to make $30,000-40,000 during their four years of college as a Cadet. This scholarship covers room, meals, tuition, books, uniforms, and fees and is worth over $70,000.
