NEW INFORMATION
Marking Period 1 is closed!
Marking Period 1 has officially closed today, November 6, 2024. At this time, teachers are finalizing Marking Period 1 and Cycle 1 grades for each of their students. Report cards will be released at noon on Wednesday, November 13th via the Genesis Parent Portal.
Upcoming Evacuation Drill: November 14th
Today's bus drill went great! Our first priority at CDW is to keep our students safe. Each month, we complete a security drill to ensure that staff and students are aware of necessary safety procedures. On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the CDW staff and students will be practicing our evacuation procedures to St. Pius around 10:00 AM. The purpose of this notification is to let you know that there will be police presence by CDW while they assist us throughout the drill. You will receive a follow-up email after the drill has been completed.
World Kindness Day: November 13th
To celebrate World Kindness Day, Ms. Melillo and Ms. Watters are “harvesting” anonymous words of kindness. Students are asked to stop by the Media Center any time on Monday, November 11th and Tuesday, November 12th to pick up a paper vegetable to write words of kindness on. Then all of the vegetables will be put together in a display.
National Gratitude Month: Student Council Events
November 18th through 22nd is American Education Week! The CDW Student Council will be planning two spirit days for that week.
Wednesday, November 20th~ Dress Like a Teacher/Dress Like a Student Day
Thursday, November 21st~ College T-Shirt/Sweatshirt Day
Grade 5 Conferences
Grade 5 parents/guardians were offered a conference time, even though it is not mandatory. There are a few slots left for November 12th. If you have not had a conference yet and still want one, please use THIS LINK to choose a time. The link will close at midnight TONIGHT, November 6th.
Grades 6-8 conferences have concluded.
This week in Mr. Ferrara's class, students kicked off the Industrialization Unit by exploring the concept of production firsthand. In a creative paper airplane activity, students experienced two different methods of production: assembly line vs. individual work. One group formed an assembly line, with each student completing a specific step, while the other group tackled the entire process individually. The activity sparked engaging discussions on efficiency, quality, and the pros and cons of industrial methods—a fun way to launch into the history of the Industrial Revolution!

If you order lunch from an approved vendor for delivery, please make sure the vendor knows your child's first and last name and grade level. This will help to ensure your child receives his/her lunch on time. At times, we understand that a parent/guardian may need to drop off lunch at school.
