Legislative Priorities
Dear Staff and Families,
We want to keep you informed about legislation that could impact Klein ISD and our schools. The Texas Senate recently passed Senate Bill 2 (SB 2), which introduces Education Savings Accounts (ESAs), also known as school vouchers.
If approved by the Texas House, this bill would provide families with financial support to help cover private school tuition or homeschooling expenses. Under this plan, eligible students could receive
$10,000 a year per student in public taxpayer dollars to fund their children’s tuition at an accredited private school and other expenses like textbooks, transportation, and therapy
$11,500 per student for children with disabilities
$2,000 a year per student for home-schooling families
$2,500 a year per home-schooling student with disabilities for therapy
As this legislation progresses, we encourage you to stay informed and engaged. Please visit our Klein ISD Legislative Webpage that is filled with facts about this Legislative Session, and how to contact your elected officials. Your voice is invaluable in shaping the future of education in Texas. We will continue monitoring its progress and informing you about further developments.
Thank you!

Technology Reminder...Klein ISD
Please keep personal computers at home. See information below...
Due to the impairment of content filtration and the lack of security mitigation, students are not permitted to use their own personal devices on campus. Teachers/admin/staff are requested to please take the personal devices away from the students and keep them until the end of the day, when the student can pick them up and take them home.
Stay Informed
Always be aware of what is on your child's phone. Apps that look innocent can cover very concerning content. This is not an exhaustive list but ones to be aware of. It is up to all of us to keep our children safe from the dangers of the world wide web.

Vistas High School Art Contest 🎨
Theme:
- No theme! Let your creativity shine!
What Can You Create?
- Any original artwork from your imagination!
- Keep it school-appropriate: Think about what’s okay to show at school.
Submission Guidelines:
- Hand-drawn or digital art is welcome.
- No Google Images, copying, or imitating others. Your submission must be 100% original—if it’s not, it will be immediately disqualified and reported to administration.
- AI Submissions:
- If you use AI, the AI should not create the image for you. The AI should be a tool to help you, not the creator of the artwork.
- Be sure to explain your AI process and the source you used. This helps verify the originality of the work.
- AI-generated work must show meaningful creativity and your personal touch.
Voting Process:
- After submissions close, the entire school will vote anonymously using a Google Form.
- It’ll be up to the voters to decide whether they prefer hand-drawn or AI-assisted work—but keep in mind, hand-drawn art often has a more personal and creative touch!
Deadline:
🗓 March 7th!
