Phoenix Family,

It was wonderful to see our Phoenixes and their families at Open House! We hope you left with a clearer understanding of our CA Staff and the curriculum your Phoenix will be engaging with this year.

Please take a moment to discuss your student's CA Student Tracker with them. It’s an excellent tool to track their progress towards earning an associate degree while still in high school. Shout out to Mrs. Wilke for creating such useful tool for parents and students. Achieving this milestone requires a strong partnership between CA, parents, and students. We've successfully reached this goal before, and with your support, we know it's absolutely within our grasp.

Last Friday, our Phoenixes and Birdville Collegiate students had the opportunity to learn about valuable resources from the TCC Dual Credit office, the TCC NE Library, and the TCC NE Support Labs. We're incredibly grateful for the resources and support TCC NE provides.

Alissa Wilke, a math teacher at Collegiate Academy, is the Star of GCISD for September. Her nomination highlights that she “always handles tasks and leads with such grace that it positively impacts those around her.” During her time at CA, her colleagues have learned they can “always count on Alissa if there’s a hiccup or if a class needs coverage.”

A big thank you from Booster Club to everyone that came to Open House, it was a great night. A new year means new spirit wear! If you missed the chance to order, there is still time. Deadline is September 23, 2024. Email the items and sizes you want, along with contact information to board.cabooster@gmail.com and send payment via venmo, cash or check. Make sure you put spirit wear in the memo or on the envelope. Cash and Check can be dropped off in the front office.

On Friday, Sept. 27th, 50 CA Juniors and Seniors have the opportunity to visit UT-Arlington to receive a guided tour of the campus. A bus will pick up CA students at 10:45 in order to be on time for the 60-minute tour at 11:30 and will drop off students back at CA in time for a 1:30 Friday dismissal.

If you are interested in attending this college visit, please fill out the UT-Arlington College Visit interest form.

If you are a parent or guardian interested and available to chaperone, please email Mr. Geer at aaron.geer@gcisd.net. You must complete this volunteer background check and be approved in order to attend as a chaperone.

Sunset LIVE! at The Gardens

We're looking for volunteers to help host this fun family-friendly event! Join Grapevine Parks & Recreation as we present Sunset LIVE! at the Gardens. We will host two evening outdoor live concerts and need volunteers for jobs like entrance, garden and kids zone attendants.

When: Friday & Saturday, October 4 and 5

Shifts begin at 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm.

Where: Grapevine Botanical Gardens at Heritage Park, 411 Ball St.
