ASASP Unit II & III Employees:

FY-24 – National Certificate Stipend

Association of Supervisory and Administrative School Personnel (ASASP) Units II and III

Pursuant to the FY-24 provisions of the Negotiated Agreement between ASASP Units II and III and the Board of Education of Prince George’s County, eligible employees will receive the National Certificate Stipend. Employees who have successfully completed and attained a National Certification, meeting the eligibility requirements outlined below, shall receive the following for a maximum of one certification per employee:

• $6,000 ($1,000 one-time lump sum and $5,000 stipend) for the first year of a new certification; or

• $5,000 for a certification that remains in good standing

Requirements

Requirements for this stipend are as follows:

• Must be a certificate (state licenses will not be considered).

• The certification must be awarded by a nationally accepted authority within the field.

• The certification must be directly related to the employee’s current position.

• The certification must require the employee to pass a formal written examination.

• The certification must require that the employee pass continuing education credits to maintain the certification.

• The certification must be on the attached approved list. To request consideration of adding a new certification to the approved list, supporting documentation indicating that the certification meets the eligibility criteria outlined above should be sent to comp.salaryinquiries@pgcps.org.

Only copies of a new or renewed certificate need to be submitted to the Office of Compensation and Classification. New and renewed certificates, meeting the criteria outlined above, must be emailed to comp.salaryinquiries@pgcps.org by April 29, 2024. The FY-24 National Certificate stipend is anticipated to be reflected on the June 7, 2024 pay date.
