Fife Public Schools
A Message from Superintendent Alfano
June 16, 2022
Dear Fife School District Staff and Families:
As we close out the 2021-2022 school year in our Fife Public Schools, I want to thank every one of our stakeholders for their perseverance, dedication, trust, and support of our school district.
For obvious reasons, the last two plus school years have been filled with uncertainty, disagreement, questions, apprehension, and quite frankly, trauma. However, as I reflect through the lens of my role as your superintendent, I am happy we are closing out the year with many positive notes. Whether it was another amazing graduation ceremony for the class of 2022 or Hedden’s 4th grade students attending Biztown, this spring has been refreshing and exciting. Moving forward into next school year, I am so optimistic that Fife Public Schools is in the enviable position we are in, and we are excited to get it started.
But first, a well-deserved break is needed for everyone! I hope you take the time over the summer to connect with your family and friends, and spend quality time reminiscing yet also talking about the exciting future ahead. We have many things in the works that are very exciting for our students, and just know our goal is always to work in partnership as we - the Fife, Milton, and Edgewood communities - move forward in a positive direction for the good of our students.
If there is a silver lining in the last two plus school years, it has to be the fact that, together, we can make a difference in the lives of our students. If the pandemic taught us anything, it taught us that adults remain the most important role models for our children and our students. The adults in their lives - both family members and educators - matter!
As hard as it has been, I continue to enjoy leading Fife Public Schools. I think our team of administrators managed the uncertainty as well as any school system in the country, and our teachers - as challenging as it was in the classroom - were second to none. The same can be said for the myriad of support staff across the district.
In closing, I hope you have an amazing summer break. I am excited to see everyone back on campus in the fall, and as we prepare for the 2022-2023 school year, please know we are more excited than ever for the future of Fife Public Schools!
Sincerely,
Kevin Alfano - Superintendent
