Dear Eagle Ridge Families,
I hope this message finds you well and that you had a restful and enjoyable summer. As the new school year approaches, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for all the wonderful experiences and learning opportunities that lie ahead for our students, families, and staff.
This year promises to be a year of growth and discovery. We are thrilled to welcome new families to our community and excited to reconnect with our returning students and families. We are pleased to announce some exciting updates and initiatives for the upcoming school year. Our curriculum has been enriched with new resources and tools to support student learning. We are excited to implement a new school-wide intervention/enrichment block that will focus on each individual child and what they need to accel.
At Eagle Ridge, we believe that education is a partnership between the school and home. MEET SOME OF THE NEW FACES AT EAGLE RIDGE
Ms. Casamassimo--2nd Grade Teacher
My name is Kristin Casamassimo. I have been a teacher for 20 years.
I have two sons, Nicholas and Andrew, who are 6 and 10. They both play travel soccer, so we spend most of our time at the soccer field.
This summer we went to Jacksonville and St Augustine. I love spending time with my family and friends. (=
Ms. Stollings--Kindergarten Teacher
My name is Mary Stollings, and I am joining the Kindergarten Team. This is my 19th year teaching for Broward County Schools. Prior to ERE, I spent 18 years teaching at the same school in the same classroom, so this is a big move for me. I am very excited for the change. A few fun facts about me are that my children attended ERE, when it first opened as a 4th-6th grade school. My oldest son made me a first time Grandma in May...so most of our recent trips have been to Tampa to see our new grandson.
Thank you to everyone for being so welcoming. I look forward to many great years at Eagle Ridge.
Ms. Werner--5th Grade Teacher
Hey there!
I'm Lisa Werner. This is my 17th year teaching. For the past eleven years I taught 3rd grade, and this year I'm so excited to teach 5th grade. I love my family, friends and the USA! Reading, crafting, and shopping are my favorite pastimes. I like to incorporate song and music when teaching. I look forward to joining the Eagle Ridge team and am looking forward to a great school year!
Ms. Heidt--PreK Teacher
Hi, my name is Jenn Heidt. I live in Parkland with my three children: My 22-year-old son Peter, who is on the Autism Spectrum, my 19-year-old daughter Elysee and my 10-year-old son Mack.
This is my 1st year teaching Pre-K. I have been a teacher’s assistant in Pre-K for 7 years at Eagle Ridge.
Join us for a special meeting to discuss TRAFFIC SAFETY
Dismissal Procedures
Carpooling is strongly encouraged to reduce traffic. Students MUST exit and enter on the passenger side closest to the sidewalk once the parents pull up as far as traffic allows.
CAR SIGNS MUST BE USED!! Students names and grades should be posted in the car windows, Eagle Ridge will provide car signs for all car riders at the beginning of the school year. To ensure safety and expedite the flow of traffic, parents are to remain in their cars and post your car sign on your rearview mirror. Please do NOT use your cell phone while driving through our car loop, this includes texting. While crossing our car loop, do not cross in front of traffic. Crossing should ONLY take place at the designated crosswalks. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult when crossing. Student drop off and pick up is ONLY to take place in the car loop and NEVER in our parking lot.
Students who are in grades 3, 4, and 5 will exit at the west side of the school closest to the staff parking lot and wait to be picked up in the car loop. Students in grades Pre-K to 2 will exit out the front gates of the school. If students have siblings in grades K-2 or ride with a student in K-2, we have asked them to wait together in the front of the school rather than the side of the school. This will help so parents have one pick up location for all students they are picking up. Staff members will be assisting students in the car loop.
The staff parking lot will be closed once it is filled, parents are encouraged to join the car line. Students will not be allowed to cross into the parking lot without an adult.

FAST Testing
Beginning with the 2024-25 school year, Florida’s statewide standardized assessments in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics will be aligned with the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.). The Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST), which includes VPK through grade 10 Reading and VPK through grade 8 Mathematics assessments, will be administered as a progress monitoring assessment three times per year.
Once the assessment is completed, parents will have access to the results through an online parent portal. Teachers will also share the results with you during parent/teacher conferences.
