Easter Break
As most of you probably know, Easter fell on April 20th this year, giving us a wonderful four-day break from April 18th to April 21st. But sadly, that had to come to an end as most good things usually do. We hope everyone had a fun break because from here on out it's time to suffer. Welcome back to school!
Sports
This month, our school officially kicked off the Junior and Senior badminton teams, with practices starting in the first half of April. On April 22nd, the Senior team competed in the County Tournament. It was a tough day filled with strong opponents and close matches, but our players gave it their all. The following day, on April 23rd, it was the Junior team's turn to take on the County Tournament. Unfortunately, neither of our teams could bring home any medals this time. We’re proud of everyone who competed, and we can’t wait to see how our teams do in future seasons!
Events
This month, we had a couple of events. On April 3rd, we had the Cranston Cup. The grade 9s lost to the teachers 3-4, the grade 8s lost as well 4-5, but in an almost seemingly impossible turn of events, the grade 7s tied 5-5 with the teachers… No one saw that coming, but the best celly by far in that game was definitely by Weston Bonne row boating down the ice. The grade 7s went to the Telus World of Science on April 4th, They had a fun & whimsical day. Our Leadership groups also organized some school events. This month they organized Pajama Day, Anything but a Backpack Day, and did a scavenger hunt for Earth Day. Keep your eye out for how much waste you're producing. The student vote was on April 25th. Make sure you keep an eye out for LA Part A final exams in May. Study and work hard towards your academic goals.
All in all, April was an exciting month for our school, from Easter Break to badminton tournaments, school events, and unforgettable moments like Weston’s iconic goal celebration. Even though not everything went our way, like missing out on medals or losing a few games, what matters is the effort and spirit everyone showed. As we head into the final months of the school year, let’s keep that energy up, support one another, and make the most of what’s left. Here’s to finishing strong!

Did you know?
Each school has a School Education Plan on its website. Annually, these plans are updated for the next school year to reflect schools’ goals, strategies and measures—all based on priorities found in the EIPS Four-Year Education Plan. School administration update their plans after reviewing school-specific results from the EIPS Annual Feedback Survey and consulting with staff, families and school councils in April. A School Education Plan helps a school community focus on what’s most important in its own specific context from year to year.
