Dear JUHSD Community,

As Fall Recess approaches, I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to everyone who makes our school district such a vibrant and supportive community.

To our students, thank you for your hard work, enthusiasm, and kindness. You inspire us every day with your dedication and potential. To our parents and guardians, your support and involvement are invaluable in creating a positive and enriching educational experience—thank you for being such vital partners in our journey.

This upcoming break is a well-deserved opportunity to rest and recharge. I hope you find time to relax, spend quality moments with loved ones, and reflect on the successes we’ve achieved together so far this year.

I look forward to welcoming everyone back after the break, ready to finish the semester strong. Wishing you all a restful and joyful Fall Recess!

Yesterday, 200 hundred middle school students from JESD got a head start on their future at the Paths to Success event held at Skyline College! Students learned about the exciting Career Technical Education Pathways through hands-on workshops, inspiring stories from a student panel, and a powerful keynote by Maggie Lang to spark their passion. This event gave JUHSD's future high schoolers an exciting overview of the CTE pathways available, helping them explore careers in fields like health sciences, engineering, culinary arts, dance, digital arts, business, computer science, fashion, and automotive. Students around the District presented this week to all World Language students about the opportunity to travel abroad in Summer 2025. Learn More about The Experiment in International Living.

A group of Thornton High School students spent the day volunteering at Glide Memorial Church, helping serve the community. It’s always inspiring to see how small acts of kindness can make a big impact.

JUHSD counselors and CTE team joined forces at Skyline College for an incredible day of collaboration and learning!

Shoutout to our JUHSD counselors for being the BIG WINNERS in the raffle by showcasing their impressive knowledge about Skyline College.

The day was all about supporting students in their pursuit of higher education, exploring opportunities like dual enrollment and fostering success beyond high school.

Together, we're building pathways to brighter futures!

In observance of our District's fall recess, all school sites will be closed Monday, November 25 through Friday, November 29 with school resuming on Monday, December 2. The District Office will be open to the public during the following hours that week:

*Monday: 8:00 am-4:00 pm

*Tuesday: 8:00 am-4:00 pm

*Wednesday: 8:00 am-12:00 pm

*Thursday & Friday: Closed
