From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
Wishing you all a joyful and relaxing Winter Recess! I hope this upcoming week provides an opportunity for rest and family time. Students across the grade levels have been working hard as the close of 2nd trimester approaches, and the vacation is certainly well-deserved!
I want to take an opportunity to thank Mrs. Joyce Laboissonniere for her years of dedicated service to Fr. Doyle School. As many of you know, Joyce will be moving on to a new position with the city of Warwick. In my first few months here at Fr. Doyle, I could not have asked for a more knowledgeable and supportive staff member to work alongside. Her love for Fr. Doyle School is always evident and has undoubtedly made a positive impact on hundreds of families who have interacted with her throughout the years. We wish Mrs. Laboissonniere all the very best in her new endeavor!
When we return from break, we will welcome Mrs. Kathy Boiardi and Mrs. Jennifer Marra to our staff. Mrs. Boiardi will be joining our staff as the new Administrative Assistant, and Mrs. Marra will serve as Coordinator of Marketing and Development. For more information, see Fr. Woolley's announcement here. How blessed we are to have such dedicated members of the school community who are willing to share their gifts in new ways in the months ahead!

Spring Volleyball at Fr. Doyle
Volleyball sign ups continue for students - both boys & girls - in grades 6-8. Sign-up can be completed digitally by completing the form here.

Spring Soccer at Fr. Doyle
Soccer sign ups continue for students in grades 4-8 at Fr. Doyle. You can find the sign up for the 4h & 5th grade team here and the 6-8 team here. We also have hard copies of sign ups in the Main Office if students need a copy. I've heard lots of excitement about the upcoming season - looking forward to seeing the Saints back on the field!
STEM Club at Father Doyle!
Signups are officially live for our STEM Club for students in grades 1-4! If your child would like to participate, you can sign up by completing the form here.
Students will set out to solve a different STEM problem each week, and in the process will engage in a wide-range of activities including coding, green-screen movie-making, and more! And best of all? The program is completely FREE for families!
Please note that sign ups are on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is a limit to the number of students who can participate in the program, so be sure to sign up soon!
Mastery Martial Arts Comes to Fr. Doyle
Students in grades Kindergarten through Four are invited to join us for a four week martial arts program right here at Fr. Doyle!
Mastery Martial Arts instructor Mr. Pezzillo will be providing martial arts instruction on Wednesdays from 2:30pm-3:00pm - April 29th, May 13th, May 20th, and May 27th. The cost is $20.00 per child.
Signing up by filling out the form here will ensure you receive the necessary waivers and information in the weeks ahead!
Finally, a reminder that the Early Enrollment Discount deadline for $100.00 off tuition is February 17th, and for $50.00 off tuition the deadline is March 30th. ALL enrollment contracts are due by April 15th. Thank you for your timely response!

Recently, you have likely heard news coverage regarding the outbreak of the Coronavirus in China. Currently, there are no reported or confirmed cases in the state of Rhode Island, and it is highly unlikely that the virus would affect our student body.

Class Basket Donations Needed!
Class Baskets have always been one of our most popular auction items! Some class baskets are nearly complete, while other classes still have plenty of opportunities to donate! Donations are due March 6th, but please make an effort to bring donations in as soon as possible we can begin preparing the baskets for what promises to be a spectacular evening at Harbor Lights!

Mrs. Jarvis is accepting donations of plastic ware and napkins that may be left over from the Thanksgiving or Christmas season. These will be utilized by students in the school lunchroom. Donations can be given directly to Mrs. Jarvis in the front office.

This program is a great way to reduce the cost of your tuition while supporting FJVDl!
The Process:
- The school purchases shopping cards from all of your favorite stores
- You purchase the cards from the school, paying face value and spending the same dollars you would have paid to the stores directly
- The school earns a percentage discount offered by participating stores.
For each $50.00 you spend, you get a stamp on your Tuition Discount Card. Fill the entire card and redeem it for a $75.00 check!
Cards currently available include:
Stop & Shop, Applebee's, Barnes & Noble, Dave's, Dunkin Donuts, Panera, Wal-Mart and more!
Stop by the school Monday-Friday 7:45am-8:15am, the Rectory Monday-Friday 1:45-2:15pm, or in the Parish Center after the 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30am Sunday Masses to purchase your gift cards!

Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up
Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
