Unfortunately, we have been having a problem in all bathrooms at Olive of students locking the stall doors and crawling underneath, leaving them locked for others. We have tried to remedy this by talking with the students about why this is not an acceptable or safe behavior, however, we are still having a problem with it happening. Therefore, we have put a new bathroom procedure in place for the time being. Students needing to use the restroom outside of the class bathroom break times will have two options:

1. They will be escorted by an adult who will wait for them outside the restroom.

2. They can use the restroom in the health clinic if an adult is not available.

We are hoping this will address the issue of the stall doors being locked. We would greatly appreciate parents talking to your students about the importance of appropriate behavior in the bathroom. Although, we know this is a very small number of children taking part in this, it is good to discuss all safe and appropriate bathroom behaviors with kids.

We love having your students join us for breakfast!! If your student is coming for breakfast, they must be dropped off between 7 and 7:05 am CST. Otherwise, they do not have enough time to eat. Thank you!

Just a reminder that changes to the park and pick up process began Monday, Dec. 2. The park and pick up students will now be called LAST. Please see previous communications if you need more information about this change.

Olive Robotics Team- we are so proud of you!!!! Congratulations on your qualification for Semi State and for winning the PEER AWARD for your inclusion and acts of kindness to other teams. I could NOT be more proud of you for that award!!!! Thanks to Coach Land and Mrs. Stepp for your work and guidance in preparing our team! The Olive robotics team will compete at the Semi State competition in Fort Wayne on Dec. 14. Best of luck, Tigers!

Thank you for supporting our school community for our Thanksgiving Spirit Week! The Olive Student Council collected over $1000 to help provide 31 meals to our NP families in need for Thanksgiving! I am so proud and thankful for your participation in this event. It is such a wonderful way to give back to our families who may need a little support during the holiday season!

Thank you so much for modeling for your children the act of kindness and giving.
