Week At A Glance
Did You Know?
Another Corporal Work of Mercy is "Clothe the Naked". To clothe the naked means providing something to wear for someone who has none, or even very little. The Biblical sense of the term, however, also can mean bringing people out of darkness into the light. At Bertha Kennedy we run jacket, mitten and toque drives in the winter to clothe the unhoused during the colder months.
For the next week, as you are pulling out the winter clothes, we are asking families to send in clean and gently used warm clothing that your children have outgrown so that we can donate these items to the local food bank.
Other ways that you can "Clothe the Naked" are:
◻ Buy & donate coats for people who need them
◻ Clean out your closet and donate to an organization or even a family you know
◻ Collect baby items for moms in need
◻ Make your own things to donate- hats, scarves, etc.
◻ Have a garage sale and donate the money“I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.” (Mt 25:35-36)

Book of Remembrance
As November is the month of Remembrance, we will be passing our Book of Remembrance from class to class in the next few weeks to record the names of our family and friends who have died in the past year. We invite students and staff to bring pictures (preferably mounted or framed) and/or small mementos of any family members or friends who have died. They will be reverently displayed and will serve as a reminder of these loved ones and our call to pray for them. Please write your child's name on the back of the picture or memento so that we can return them at the end of November.
