Plan appropriately. Keep these key dates on hand so you know the important adding and dropping deadlines!

For declared majors, appointments can be scheduled by logging into your Trellis account. Appointments will be held over the phone or zoom. Because the beginning of the semester is usually quite busy for advisors, we will be offering shorter 15 minute appointments to assist you with your last minute scheduling questions. Eventually, we will resume the 30 minute appointment offerings.

Email is another option for your advising questions. Questions over email should be directed to your assigned advisor by last name.

Some important things to consider when emailing your academic advisor or other professionals on campus:

• Always use your UA email account.
  
• Always allow AT LEAST 24 hours for a person to respond before re-sending another email or emailing someone else. A response will take longer during busy times of the semester. Most people on campus interact with hundreds of students so patience is a virtue.
• Be thorough in what you are asking about and who you are. While you may have just communicated with the advisor, chances are we have talked with dozens of students since then.
• If you send an email outside of business hours, please understand you will not hear back until the next set of business hours.
  
• Before emailing, ask yourself, "Have I tried finding the answer myself?" While your advisor is happy to help, it is harder to help everyone quickly if we are receiving emails like "How do I contact the financial aid office." The UA website, the Psychology website, UA search box and directory are excellent resources.
  

If you are participating in a Fall internship, independent study, or directed research experience for credit, forms are due on September 4th.

If you are planning on graduating after this Fall or Winter Session, you need to apply for graduation! The deadline to apply is September 1st to avoid the $50 late fee. After Sept. 1st, there is an additional $50 fee. Instructions are below:

To apply for graduation, go to your UAccess Student Center. Use the "Academic Record" drop down menu at the top. Select "Academic Summary", then select "Apply for Graduation". The next step will be to schedule a Degree Audit Worksheet appointment with your Academic Advisor and this step does NOT have to be done before September 1.

If you need to contact someone, but you aren't sure where to find their email address, you can utilize the UA Directory. Be sure to utilize the same email etiquette as described above.

Study on Cognition and Emotions Using Naturalistic Assessment

Participate in an online study on aging, cognition, and Alzheimer’s disease risk in Tucson!

This new research project involves meeting with researchers from the Human Memory Lab and the Neuroscience of Emotion and Thought Lab at the University of Arizona. Study sessions are administered on Zoom for Health – a private and secure video conferencing service. To log on to Zoom, participants must have access to a web-camera and a reliable internet connection (tablets and laptops have built-in cameras). In addition to completing memory and thought tasks on Zoom, participants are asked to use two smartphone applications for about one week.

The study does not involve medications, nor does it require invasive procedures. Participants will receive monetary compensation for their time. All adults at least 18 years old may qualify!
