The mission of Sioux Center Christian School is to disciple God’s children by equipping them with a knowledge and understanding of Christ and His creation so that they can obediently serve God and others as they work and play.
Every Student TREASURED, Every Student TRAINED, Every Student TRANSFORMED
4TH GRADE COMMUNITY BUILDERS
Last week, 4th graders were Community Builders as they worked with 7th graders to edit their realistic fiction stories. The students first read their story and then worked together to make the story even better. The process of editing together gives both grade levels practice in revising story drafts and giving helpful, specific feedback.
5TH GRADERS SERVE THROUGH SACK PACK SIOUX CENTER
Last week, our 5th graders were justice seekers and servant workers as they filled food bags for kids in our community through Sack Pack Sioux Center. Through their service, students showed kindness and compassion, and lived out their English Language Arts learning target: “I can explore food insecurity and shine His light by bringing justice to this issue.” As they continue this unit, students will to look for other ways they can seek justice in our community. Plus, they will continue to serve the Sack Pack program by "double-bagging" nearly 1,000 bags each month! This makes a stronger bag for the food, since it goes from packing, to a container, to a school, to a backpack, to a home - and saves time for the volunteers who pack the sacks.
The Sack Pack program provides easy-to-prepare, nutritious food for children in Sioux Center who are at risk of going hungry on the weekend. The program depends on donations and volunteers and serves hundreds of children in the Sioux Center schools each week! (Head Start, Little Warriors Preschool, Stepping Stones Preschool, Sioux Center Christian, Kinsey, Intermediate, Middle School and High School).
ALTERNATE BUS ROUTE - FRIDAY, OCT. 25
This Friday, Oct. 25, is one of the Fridays that the alternate bus route will be run since the public school has an early dismissal. If your child rides the afternoon route, they may be getting off a different bus number or arriving home at a different time than normal. Teachers will have a list to make sure students know if they ride an alternate bus.
ELECTRIC SCOOTER AND BIKE REMINDER
A reminder to slow down as you bike or scooter on the trails and sidewalks. Office Munneke has noticed that electric scooters and bikes on the trails are going at too high of speeds which can create a potential for accidents with others using the trail. Please be considerate to all who use our wonderful trails around Sioux Center!

PELLA STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH
We believe all our faculty and staff are amazing and encourage you to take the time to nominate one (or more) of your children’s teachers!
Complete the nomination form (printed copies are available by the TRIP window) and return to our school office or mail to/drop off at Pella Corp. by the 25th of each month during the school year.
Each month a winner is chosen from our local schools and receives a $500 gift from Sioux Center Pella Corp, which can be used in their classroom to impact learning!
Last year five of our faculty/staff received the award (Angela Veenstra, Becky Postma, Marcy Holwerda, Anmarie Stuit, and Becky Vander Werf) and our students are receiving the benefits of the $2,500 in classroom purchases made possible by their awards from Pella Corp!
