School Information
Book Exchange
When: March 6 & 7 - drop off days, March 13 & 14 - pick up days
What is it? Students will bring in gently used books from home that they no longer want and drop them off (on March 5 & 6) on tables in the library. Then on March 13 & 14, students will be able to choose a 'new to them' book to take home and keep. Books will be labeled with a sticker that says 'Deer Creek Book Exchange.' All students will bring home a book.
Spring Book Reading Madness
When: Beginning in March and continuing through April
What is it? We will have 2 brackets, a primary bracket K-2, and an intermediate bracket 3-5. Students will have the opportunity to read 2 books every two weeks. Then they will vote on their favorite of the 2 books. We will announce the winning books of each bracket.
More fun reading activities to come during March!
Ballroom Dancing Update
Our 4th and 5th grade students are off to a fabulous start with ballroom dancing! The students will learn the Swing, Line Dancing, Tango, and the Merengue. Students were rotating partners so they got to dance with a variety of different people. They also got to practice dancing both as the lead and the follow parts. On Monday, March 4, they were assigned partners. Now they can perfect working together and add their own style. It is wonderful to see so many smiling faces and laughter. You would be amazed at all the progress they have made so far.
Reminder- the evening performance will be Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 here at Deer Creek. This is one of those events that you will not want to miss. Students should wear their nicest clothing for the evening performance.

Your gift funds the School Grants that are annually awarded to our 17 schools, to fund vital part-time teaching staff that the state budget can't afford. TTSD Partnership with LifeStance Health
TTSD and LifeStance Health have partnered to improve student access to mental health services. The LifeStance Health School-Based Program is dedicated to providing quality therapeutic services to schools while removing barriers for students and families by placing therapists in district buildings. School-Based Therapists treat mental health conditions which can include depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, or substance use issues.
Services are billed through OHP and most insurance plans.
LifeStance Health serves all TTSD students K-12 out of two locations:
Tigard High School
Byrom Elementary/Tualatin High School
For more information, contact your student’s school counselor, visit the LifeStance School-Based webpage and fill out the referral form, or call LifeStance at 971-808-3643.
