Trinity Baptist Church
The end of the school year is here, and we’re headed into SUMMER! I hope you and your family are able to take time to slow down and spend some quality time together making memories this summer.
During the summer, church attendance and giving tend to naturally decline due to vacations, shifted routines, and various other reasons – but I want to encourage you to be faithful! When you are in town, make church attendance a priority. By doing this, you not only strengthen your relationship with Christ but also demonstrate to your children and family that church attendance is a priority for you. When attendance is low, giving is low. When giving decreases, it means the events and activities we can offer decrease as well. I encourage you to utilize the online giving portal at www.tbcapopka.org/give when you’re away - we all play a part in ensuring ministry needs are met.
During the week of June 7th – 12th Meme and I will be traveling to Dallas, TX for the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting. Each year, the SBC holds this meeting where messengers from member churches gather to conduct denominational business, elect leaders, and make important decisions that shape the convention’s direction. It also serves as a time of worship, fellowship, and connection with other leaders from around the country to be encouraged, equipped and mobilized for Kingdom work. We are excited to represent Trinity and ask for your prayers as we travel.
Please also continue to pray for Trinity Christian School teachers & staff as they wrap up the 2024/25 school year and head into summer. Pray for God’s guidance for TCS leadership as they navigate changes, prep for the future and for all the current and future students and families’ safety throughout the summer.

Worship Ministry
This month, the orchestra and choir are working hard on our Patriotic concert, "Celebrate America"! It will be held on Saturday, June 28th, beginning with a dinner in the gym at 4pm followed by the concert at 5pm. It will consist of a beautiful selection of both old and new songs, you won’t want to miss it! RSVP and sign up to bring a side dish HERE!
We continue to move forward with the vision of capturing younger families while still incorporating hymns and older songs. The creative arts recognize that we are creating a worship experience, not a worship style. With worship experiences, we can use music from any era to create a worshipful atmosphere on Sundays. A worship style is more set in the type of music you sing, like modern, hymns or a mix of older music. All music could, and should, be used for any occasion. This means we have a unique experience every Sunday, as we don’t know what God will do with the music that has been selected.
This may seem too early, but I've already started listening to Christmas music! I love Christmas and the ministry opportunities it brings. Christmas music generates such warmth and fills us with numerous memories. This is why I don’t mind listening to Christmas music in June!

Student Ministry
What a school year this has been! We're wrapping up our "Final Countdown" on Wednesday nights with students who dressed up, invited friends, learned about being desperate to tell others about Jesus, and had a blast worshipping and playing in the gym! Our Golf Tournament was a great day being surrounded by God's beautiful green scenery. Last, but not least, what an awesome Grad Sunday we experienced, celebrating our 7 high school graduates! We are so excited to see where God takes them next.
Speaking of things coming next... it's finally here: SUMMER! Now that students have finished walking the halls of their schools, we're taking them on mission!
Underground Church: Sunday
June 1st | 6-8pm
Our students will have the opportunity to experience the pursuit of Jesus in an intense game! IYKYK! If you’d like to participate in this experience, please let me know - we need a lot of help to pull this off!
Xtreme Summer and World Changers Mission Trips
Some of our students will be participating in mission trips this summer! Please be in prayer for our students, leaders, and the individuals/families that we will be reaching. Our Golf Tournament helped raise most of the funds needed for these trips, but not all. If you’d like to “adopt” a student financially and/or as a prayer partner, please find me! As always, thank you for the support you always show our student ministry!
In the OSM we’re about giving students the opportunity to experience, worship and know Jesus. We’re focused on ministry and putting hands and feet to our faith! If you’d like to get involved with our students, even if you’re not sure how you’d fit, please come talk to me - there is a place for you! If you have ideas or suggestions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Another Year of Blessings and Growth!
Can you believe the school year is already over? What a wonderful year it has been at Trinity Christian School! We’ve seen incredible growth in our students—academically, spiritually, and personally. From classroom accomplishments to campus-wide events, this year has been full of moments to celebrate.
Our dedicated teachers and staff have poured their hearts into every lesson, every prayer, and every opportunity to help our students grow in their relationship with the Lord. We are truly grateful for the partnership we share with each of you in the TCS community.
A special congratulations to our two graduates! We are so proud of you and excited to see what God has in store for your future. We know you will do amazing things, because God has written your story, and His plans are always good.
As we head into summer, our staff will be hard at work preparing for the 2025–2026 school year. To help us continue improving and planning well, please take a few minutes to complete the Parent Survey if you haven’t already. Your feedback is an important part of our planning process.
Most of all, we hope this summer is a time of rest, renewal, and meaningful family time. And don’t forget to encourage your children to keep reading throughout the break—it’s one of the best ways to keep their minds growing.
Have a blessed and joyful summer!

Lastly, I don't want to miss the opportunity to give a huge thank you! Thank you so much to all the parents, church staff, school staff and church members that made us feel so special and loved not just during Teacher Appreciation Week but this entire school year! Loving on, teaching, and discipling children is what we love to do! Your kindness truly helped refresh our spirits so that we could stay grounded in what God has called us to do here at Trinity!
Mrs. Brenda Roth, Early Childhood Education Director
Elementary
Here’s to summer days of sleeping in, playdates with friends, and fun at the beach! A change in routine is well-deserved and I am sure much appreciated.
But have you heard of the summer slide?
The "summer slide" refers to the learning loss many students experience over summer break—especially in reading and math. To help your child stay sharp (while still having fun!), here are a few creative and easy ways to keep learning going all summer long:
- Set a daily reading time (20–30 minutes). Let kids choose books they enjoy. Read as a family!
- Visit the library, participate in a summer reading program.
- Involve your kids in cooking (measuring & fractions).
- Use grocery shopping for budgeting, estimating, and comparing prices.
- Visit museums, zoos, or nature centers to learn through exploration.
- Start a summer journal or scrapbook.
- Write letters or postcards to friends/family.
Most importantly, spend time in God’s word! Vacation Bible School at Trinity is July 14-18th - register here. I would love to see my school friends there!
Have a super summer!
Mrs. Raeann Johnson, Elementary Principal
Secondary
As we look back over the past school year, I am thankful for the TCS families. Your ongoing support, prayer, and partnership have been a vital part of the spiritual and academic growth we’ve seen in our students. At the heart of Christian education is a shared commitment to nurture children not only in knowledge and skill but in faith and character. This mission cannot succeed without the love and encouragement you show at home. From helping with homework to cheering from the sidelines, volunteering in classrooms, participating in school events, and most importantly, praying for our teachers and students—you have made a lasting impact.
As you have a few extra minutes this summer, I encourage you to listen to the podcast Celebrate Kids with Dr. Kathy Koch. Dr. Kathy offers practical, relevant, and spiritual-centered insights and strategies for parents and educators to help guide children to develop biblical character and healthy relationships so they flourish in life. Dr. Kathy Koch shares information about all things kids - from discipline and character development to navigating social media with your kids. The wisdom she shares always blesses me, and I know you will also be blessed by her discussions as well.
The relaxed summer schedule provides time for deeper conversations, Bible study, and the sharing of life lessons grounded in faith with your children. These moments can help strengthen their relationship with God. Summer is a time for rest and renewal, and what better way to rest than by growing in your faith together as a family? I pray this will be a season where you and your children experience the joy of drawing closer to God and each other.
