Meet the Teacher Day
WZES Hours
First Day of School
Parents may walk students to class on the first day of school. At 9:50, the bell rings and an announcement will be made for our learning day to begin. The second day of school, all students will walk to their classes without families. Not to worry! We have a FULL staff of adults ready to walk all our children and monitor them on campus in order to ensure safety.
Dismissal
Please be patient with us the first two weeks of school as we work through dismissal. For our bus riders, every ID must be checked prior to students entering the bus. Once buses are loaded, we will dismiss them. As for car riders, we usually have a larger than normal line for all those students waiting for bus to start. We will get your child out to you as soon as possible. The car dismissal tag should be displayed in the front window. Parents without a tag will need to park in the front and go to the office for a new one. Students will not be loaded without a dismissal tag.
Please make sure your child's teacher knows how your child is getting home. If there are any changes to dismissal, please contact the office prior to 3:00pm.
Transportation Updates
Please be patient with us the first few weeks of school as we get into a routine! For information about transportation, please read https://www.pasco.k12.fl.us/transportation/page/parents/
Bus Riders
Student identification cards will be given out and bands will be put on your child's backpack. Please leave the bus band on the backpack for at least 10 school days! Kindergarten students will have a bright pink band and the school bus band. Please help your child with the school bus route number. Please read the attached documents for more information.

Attendance
Dress Code
Student Code of Conduct, Discipline, and Rules of Dress and Appearance
You can access the Student Code of Conduct HERE. Rules of dress and appearance start on page 27 of the document. There are updates that go into effect this fall. In additional to the items listed that are considered inappropriate for the school.
Parent Portal
It is very important that you have access to your child's Parent Portal. This is where you will be able to view your child's Progress Reports and Report Cards, test results, and bus passes.
Please also make sure that you have completed your child's Parent Bill of Rights, which can be accessed through the Parent Portal. It is important that parents acknowledge and declare in writing whether they want their student to participate in various educational opportunities and related activities, and whether their students may be provided healthcare and other services available to them.
If you need help creating or logging in to your account, please see the resources available at https://www.pasco.k12.fl.us/parents.
Free Breakfast and Lunch
Pasco County Schools Food & Nutrition Services will be implementing a program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).
What does this mean for our families?
All enrolled students of Pasco County Schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to their household.
No further action is required. Each student(s) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.
A la Carte items including vending machines will still be available for purchase including additional meals and/or components of the meals.
Families can reach out to Food & Nutrition Services directly through Lets Talk, call FNS at 813.794.2480, or email FNS_Finance@pasco.k12.fl.us if they have any questions regarding this new program.
Cafeteria Menu
Have complete access to your school's cafeteria menu right from your computer or smartphone. Click this link, or download the mobile app, to view/print your Café's Menu, monitor food allergies, and calculate critical nutritional information such as counting carbohydrates.
MealViewer allows you to customize your food service experience by allowing you to mark your favorite entrees and it will notify you when it's on the menu so you don't miss it! Once you create a User Profile account the site will store your school(s), allergen information, and favorite entrees. You can save multiple schools to your account if you have more than one child attending different grade levels. By saving allergens to your profile, parents and students will be alerted when an allergen is present on the menu. This cuts down on uncertainty and potentially dangerous situations for each of our students.
But It's Just a Cupcake
Foods for school celebrations often include unhealthy choices such as cupcakes, candy, cookies, and soda. While there is nothing wrong with an occasional treat, unhealthy foods are often the norm rather than the exception. Parties, food rewards and food fundraisers, often include foods that are low in nutrients and high in fat, added sugars and sodium. Our School Board's Wellness Policy and Procedures 8510, state that to comply with USDA Local School Wellness Policy requirements and birthday parties and/or classroom celebration food items must meet USDA Smart Snack Standards and be prepared in a commercial kitchen.
Just a reminder, we are absolutely unable to accept cupcakes, candy, cookies, etc. for any time of birthday or classroom celebration. As a school we must abide by the federal standards. If any of those items are sent to school, you will be called to pick them up. Even if already purchased they will not be given to students. Thank you for your understanding.

Respect and Civility Statement
The education of a child happens only through a partnership between the student, School and District personnel, parent(s) or guardian(s), and the community. Partnership is an active state that includes sharing responsibilities, having meaningful communication, and welcoming participation. People will not always agree, and that can make partnerships difficult. Partnerships are most powerful when we agree on how to disagree. All stakeholders must remain civil in their discourse. The purpose of this policy is to provide rules of conduct for students, employees, parents, and visiting members of the public which permit and encourage effective communication between all stakeholders, while at the same time enabling the Board to identify and deal with those behaviors that are inappropriate and disruptive to the operation of a school or other District facility. It is not the intent of the Board to deprive any person of his/her right to freedom of expression, and nothing contained in this policy is intended to restrict or chill an individual's free speech rights as determined by the forum in which the speech occurs. Public participation at school board meetings shall continue to be governed by Board Policy 0169.1 - Public Participation at School Board Meetings.
