To the Parents/Guardians of Rising 8th Grade Students,

Welcome to the first step of the Maryville Junior High School online registration process. Enclosed you will find the following information regarding registration: Placement criteria for rising 8th grade classes, a listing of required and elective courses, academic and CTE pathways, and directions for registering your student on School Links. Please look over these materials as it will make the registration process easier and more efficient.

During the week of January 27-31 your student will register for the 2025-26 school year through School Links. This process will take place at your student’s current school. Parents/Students can also access the registration portal at home. Students should complete registration by Friday, January 31. All students should register; however, if your student has an IEP or receives services in the Academic Success or Learning Support classroom, final decisions about electives may not be made until late spring.

We hope you will attend the Parent Orientation and Elective Career Fair on Tuesday, January 14 from 6:00 – 7:30 P.M. in the MJHS gym. The staff at MJHS looks forward to seeing you.

January 7–21 - MJHS 8th grade teachers will hold classroom conversations with students about the 2025-26 placement and course registration process. The MJHS School Counselors will be onsite to advise 7th grade students at MRIS and CGIS.

January 6 – Invitations will be sent out electronically inviting families to our Parent Night and Elective Career Fair on January 14th for rising 8th grade and January 16th for rising 9th grade.

January 10 – MJHS will post all registration instructions, how-to videos, and supporting materials on the MJHS Registration Website.

January 10 – MJHS will host a Parent-to-Parent Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. to preview the registration process for parents who are unable to attend the evening orientation on January 14th or January 16th.

January 13-17 - Rising 9th grade student advising. The MHS Counselors will be onsite to advise 9th grade students.

January 14 – MJHS will host a rising 8th grade (current 7th grade) orientation and elective career fair in the MJHS gym from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

January 16 – MJHS will host a rising 9th grade (current 8th grade) orientation and elective career fair in the MJHS gym from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

January 27-31 - Rising 8th and 9th grade registration window opens through School Links. Your student will register during homeroom, and you can also access the School Links portal from home.

February 28 - Deadline for elective changes in SchooLinks.

March 3 – Student course registration verifications will be sent electronically to families.

March 19-21- MJHS School Counselors will be available to address parent requests for change of academic placement for the 2025-26 school year.

Before July 31 – MJHS 2025-26 course schedules will be made available in PowerSchool.

Student schedules will be adjusted within the first ten (10) days of the fall semester for students. A schedule change request form is available in the school counseling office and online. The deadline for SY 25-26 (To Be Announced).

Changes in academic placement (level) can only take place prior to the end of the first quarter (first nine weeks) of the term through a collaborative process to include the student, parent, and teacher. After that time, academic placement (level) will only take place through a collaborative process, with administrative approval, following a student, parent, teacher, and school counselor conference.
