Rolla High School -- May 2024
** FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK **
It’s hard to believe the end of the school year is upon us. Things are moving at a furious pace as we prepare for graduation. It has been a blessing to be back at Rolla High School. We have great kids in our building. They are kind, willing to help others, and just a joy to be around. Thank you for doing such a great job of raising your children into respectful and responsible young adults.
We recently had our senior awards ceremony. Our students received over a million dollars in scholarships for their post-secondary education. Our local community contributed more than $280,000 in scholarships for our students. You will not find a more supportive community of education than our community. I assure you that the investment made in these students will come back to us tenfold.
The last week for seniors is the week of May 6th. Our seniors' last day is on May 10 when seniors are dismissed at 1 p.m. We will have graduation practice on the morning of May 10th to begin at 8:00 a.m. Please encourage your students to attend and stay for the fun events scheduled for the morning.
Graduation will take place on May 12th at 2:30 p.m. at the Gale Bullman Multi Purpose Building. Doors will open at 1 p.m. Attendees must have a graduation ticket for entrance into the ceremony. There will be an overflow location in the recreation center of the building where the ceremony will be broadcasted and projected onto a screen. No tickets will be required for this location and it is air-conditioned.
We are looking forward to a great end of the year. Please pay close attention to our daily announcements for upcoming events. Feel free to call my office with any questions.
Sincerely,
Corey Ray, Ed.D.

** ATTENDANCE OFFICE INFO **
Why am I getting an attendance notification?
When a student is marked absent and the attendance office doesn’t receive a reason, parents are sent an email making them aware of an unexcused absence. Parents may reply to the email (make sure you include your student's full name) letting the office know why they are absent. Parents can sign up for notification on the parent portal, as well. Instructions on signing up are posted below.
Reporting an Absence? Leaving School Early?
STUDENTS: If you are leaving school early, or arriving late, please remember to check in/out through the Attendance Office in the lower commons area.
** RHS COUNSELING CENTER **
Would you like to help guide the way that the school counseling program supports, educates, and serves RHS students, families and staff? Want to learn more about what professional school counselors do to help students navigate high school and prepare for life after?
Please consider submitting your name to serve on the RHS School Counseling Program Advisory Council.
The advisory council will have one meeting each fall and spring to provide support, offer advice, review the current status and priorities of the program, and encourage further development to prioritize the goals of a school district’s comprehensive school counseling program.
Advisory council membership will include approximately 10-15 members representing a variety of stakeholders such as:
parents/guardians
school board members
students
community leaders
agency personnel
teachers
Members should have a shared enthusiasm for students and school counseling.
We are looking for voices to provide positive guidance and come alongside us as we work to strengthen the school counseling program at Rolla High School.
Congratulations, Graduates!
Congratulations to all who were recognized during the recent Senior Awards night. Photos from this event can be found on the district website.
