Summer Office Hours
Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. - Noon
Or, by appointment.
As our school year ends today and our summer begins, I would like to express how proud I am of our student's achievements and accomplishments here at Lake Country School. These would not be possible without your support and dedication.
Reflecting on the past school year, we have had some great challenges, but also memories and exciting events to look back on: our school musical Finding Nemo, band, choir, and music concerts, 5K Pet Show, Three Piggy Opera, Weather Wizard of Oz, American Salute, and National History Day to name a few. Our students enjoyed all of these activities. Our year ended with a wonderful eighth-grade graduation ceremony and PTO Field Day.
A huge thank you to the parents who have contributed in ways small, big, and beyond imagination! Thank you for the partnership between home and school. We appreciate all that you do each and every day for our school and our children! Our community's passion and strength make our school a special place for our children.
As we approach the end of the year, we want to take some time to look back on the past year and celebrate our accomplishments. We are also taking this opportunity to assess where we can improve for the upcoming school year. We are eagerly planning and preparing for the new school year, filled with excitement and optimism.
As we say goodbye to our graduating and non-returning students, we extend best wishes as they embark on the next phase of their academic journey. To our departing teachers and staff, we extend our deepest gratitude for their dedication and hard work in serving our school community. Their contributions have made a lasting impact, and we are truly grateful for their commitment to excellence.

Area Summer Camp Opportunities
Lake Country School has compiled a list of camp opportunities in the local area. Please note that these camps are not affiliated with the Lake Country School District. All questions and registration must be communicated with the camp.
Erin Meadows Riding Academy
Erin Meadows Summer Camp provides children ages 3-16 a safe, fun environment where campers experience grooming animals, horseback riding, and creates opportunities to form relationships with peers and staff as well as with their horse for the week. Working with horses requires each rider to practice patience, communication, listening and observation skills, and teamwork. Riding helps to develop balance, strength, coordination, and confidence. The camp experience provides an opportunity to practice social skills with their peers and with our camp counselors, who are all amazing, young adult role models.
With two educators at the helm, our goal this summer is to teach life skills through interacting with and riding horses. Share our camp information with any family that you think could benefit from this unique experience! Find more information and print a registration form at www.erinmeadowsponies.com.

Strategies to Make Homework Go More Smoothly
Homework has been around as long as public schools have, and over the years considerable research has been conducted regarding the efficacy of homework practices. Besides contributing to academic success, homework can help teach children how to take responsibility for tasks and how to work independently. Homework helps children develop habits of mind that will serve them well as they proceed through school and through life. Specifically, homework helps children learn how to plan and organize tasks, manage time, make choices, and problem solve. All of these skills contribute to effective functioning in the adult world of work and families. Homework also helps parents stay involved with their childβs education.
We encourage parents to help and assist their children to follow a nightly homework routine. Below are some recommendations from the National Association of School Psychologists. If you have further questions please reach out to your childβs teacher. CLICK HERE FOR HELPFUL HOMEWORK ROUTINES
If you have further questions, concerns or need to collaborate about your childβs education or social/emotional/behavioral health; please reach out to your Student Support Team.

The Lake Country School District will practice and promote good nutrition within the school setting. Students who practice good nutrition attend school with minds and bodies ready to take advantage of their learning environment. Eating habits are learned early in life. Therefore, the School Board, administrators and staff support a school environment that promotes and encourages lifelong nutritious eating habits.
